  • For the lady staying at Rockley Park, I would say the park itself is really nice. Just be warned though that you may be disturbed at night due to the site being right next door to the Land and Sea rescue service and we were woken in the early hours by helicopters going in and out, which also occurs a lot during the day!! We had a young son with us which thoroughly enjoyed helicopters going directly above our heads so suppose that was a bonus lol.
This site rocks and has saved me loads -
thanks to all those that post on the forums and have saved me money
    ;)
  • Can somebody please say something nice about Haven? I have booked a caravan at Rockley Park in August and was really really nervous about going with Haven in case it was awful. Now I've read this thread and I'm wondering if I should cancel.
We want somewhere clean with a swimming pool to act as a base for exploring the area. Not planning on using Kids Clubs, restaurant or the evening entertainment. Will it be OK????

Aww dont cancel your holiday. I started this thread as i was soooooo annoyed with their pricing. We are still booking our Hven holiday when the prices drop and are more reasonable. We have had great Haven holidays in the past I think its like anywhere you get some good and some bad. But I do think Haven have been improving their caravans. Hope you have a lovely time. x

I agree - don't cancel haven - we go because the kids love the evening character shows - before i had kids i would have never gone to Haven but with small kids it is perfect... swimming pools, evening entertainment for the kids, daytime activities for the kids - if the kids are happy we are happy....

Although I have stayed at Haven many times and enjoyed it; we have looked at other holiday parks this year and you will find that many of them have character shows and childrens entertainment, and it costs less than staying at Haven.

  • I have been looking at prices for a weekend away in the summer but they have been too expensive so haven't bothered. I've just received my monthly email from raring2go offering 50% off holidays to Haven and 25% off school holiday dates. Clicked on the link put in my dates and guess what? exactly the same price!!!

hi yes, i know but 3 years ago when we first went to haven i bought all the character cuddly toys for 99p each on ebay - so they come along with us every year...

if we went to another company i would have to buy another set of character toys!

what are the swimming pools like at the other brands parks?

and do they have direct access to dog friendly beaches?

my kids love swimming and spend hours each day in the pool and also we have a long dog walk / play on the beach each day no matter what the weather.... so day time activites don't cost us a penny....

haven enables us to go away to the beach without it costing very much when we get there...

i have looked at other companys and am quite tempted to go the Isle of Wight one year...

Have a look at Hoburne's swimming pools. Also check out Ruda holiday holiday park which is a Parkdean site. You will find excellent facilities and direct beach access much better than Haven's in my opinion.

Ruda is lovely, we have been there twice and our children had brilliant holidays each time. The entertainment consists of a kids club during the day (parents stay but you can sit at a table, take a coffee and paper with you as you are not expected to join in with all of it - little ones will obviously need more help), evenings they have a kids disco and games etc. There are gorgeous views and croyde beach is really nice. You can walk into Croyde from the park, there are plenty of family pubs etc there. It's a really nice feel to the place down there, it's very much a surfy / camping crowd. Woolacombe is not far away and we visited the Big Sheep which was a great day out (if you go early in your holiday you can go back later in the week very cheaply we didn't realise this, also you can pay with tesco vouchers). I want to go back now!
