  • Was just reading through the letter again before sending off my ID by recorded delivery this morning and it has a 16 digit number as the reference number - could this be the credit card number? Anyone know what Capital One cards start with (or isn't it as simple as that?)

    thanks

My capital one account ref number is the same as the card number, what are the first four digits?

the first digits won't mean anything to you.

My Card = 4775 Gf's = 5460 and both Cap one so really you would have to wait or sdend id and then ring them up see if they have processed it

Mastercards start with "5" VISA cards start with "4"

The Capital One Classic card is the only VISA card at the moment - the rest are Mastercards

4751 seems to relate to NATWEST/RBS Debit cards

477596 relates to Capital One according to this list http://www.bindb.com/bin-list.html

My fiance got asked to send in proof of ID and when we checked her credit report we noticed that Capital One had her date of birth a day out (23rd instead of 22nd) so we sent them a letter with the proof of ID explaining that they'd got the wrong D.O.B.

She got her proof of ID back about a week later and the card came a couple of weeks after that with a credit limit of £500.

I didn't need proof of ID for mine but only got a limit of £200 which I pay off in full every month.

You have been accepted, would put money on it, ime going to look a t*t if you do get rejected though..

You needn't worry about that! Got two texts yesterday with login details for the account - have just logged in and have been given a £500 limit!

Have been working away from home which is why haven't been online.

Don't think there's any sign of a card or pin yet but can't be far away!

  • Hi all

Well it has arrived today and the pin came a few days ago - yay!

Have set myself up with the online account, set up dd for full amount etc, but can't see anything about the free Equifax credit report? Do they still do that?

    thanks
