Right, today I have received a letter asking for proof of my date of birth, which I have no problem in providing. In other poster's experience does this mean acceptance? Although as far as I know my date of birth is on my Experian file - am having problems accessing my Equifax file at present.

    thanks

GF had to send 3 forms of proof away. Sent it back and recieved pin and card before info was sent back to us. Took less than 1 week for card and pin and 10 days for details back

That sounds good then...what was the limit if you don't mind me asking?

Indeed the Barclaycard Initial is harder to get than the Capital One Classic, however just because they have a minimum limit of #200.00 doesn't mean that's what you'll get - my flat mate was given #1000.00 starting limit on his cap one classic despite never having held a credit card before :o

Probably his income/outgoings as well as salary was good, and got a £1000 starting limit... I think those criteria's are weighted the most when doing credit scoring.

Also, why is Barclaycard Initial is harder to get? You are making me worried now, as I might get declined...
  • I've read that the Barclaycard Initial is the hardest of the four 'subprime' ones to get - so I'm not surprised really. I'd quite like to know why too

    That'll be why then :o

Seriously though, I tried that let me choose thingy and I didn't come up with anything! This is with a income of £40k, a mortgage and no adverse!

    Go figure!

Thanks, thought it might be low - still its the first step to bigger and better things isn't it (if it happens _pale_ )

  • Was just reading through the letter again before sending off my ID by recorded delivery this morning and it has a 16 digit number as the reference number - could this be the credit card number? Anyone know what Capital One cards start with (or isn't it as simple as that?)

    thanks
