    I've been Money Tipped!
Other than what has already been mentioned that drives me mad its also the look of confusion on peoples faces when someone goes all the way round a mini roundabout without indication scary

When I passed my test (admittedly 21 years ago  - gosh that makes me feel old!) the Highway Code said that when going straight on at a roundabout you could, if you wished, indicate right to show that you weren't turning off at the first exit, before switching to left indicator when it was time to indicate for your exit.
I don't do that though - I think it mostly just confuses people.

    (Woman driver. Impeccable indicator. :D)

It's good practice as one cannot turn right off a roundabout so it can only mean you are continuing to your intended exit.

Just to clarify, if you're going straiight (2nd exit) at a roundabout, don't indicate until you're past the first?

    That's correct.

Although in reality with smaller roundabouts one would probably have already entered the 2nd exit before actually indicating especially if you are able to approach the roundabout with some speed.

    It is still good practice.
  • I was on the M6 recently at night. I`m in the slow lane, lorry in front of me so I indicate to go into the middle lane. Retard in the fast lane does`nt indicate and comes into the middle lane. Two vehicles both making their way into the middle lane, needless to say he was a taxi. I very nearly side swiped him, if I had have done he would probably have spun round and hit the lorry or central reservation..

When I`m on the road I think for everybody else because they are stupid, no offence
  • Many a time I have entered a roundabout and had someone shoot out in front of me from the next exit/entrance. There's a mini roundabout abut 20 yards from my drive, and on my way to work ( this morning the latest occurance) I entered the miniroundabout area, there's 3 exits, my entry 1, towards the high street 2 and the 3rd one towards the collge ( my exit on my way to work).
So I entered as normal heading to exit 3, and this white van man looks my way then proceeds at speed from exit 2 to cut across me heading to exit 3.
Many a time I try to get ahead of these basts and hit the brakes to slow them right down, many a time I want to hit the side of them, but seeing as I'm on a motorcycle with usually the wife on pillion its a bit dangerous.
The law is in favour of someone on the roundabout already and if your on there first and someone cuts across you and you hit their RIGHT side then that shows you hit them and they cut across you.
However if they hit you then it really depends on where they hit you, my reckoning is rear half and they should have had enough time to slow down to avoid you, front half's a bit iffy providing you can show that you where ON the roundabout FIRST, take pictures and draw accurate diagrams if you need to.
As for the carrying of pipes, bars or bats, unless you have a GOOD ENOUGH reason the police can class it as a weapon, most things like that are carried in the boot in the commons sense persons car. But a bunch of heavy keys on a chain can still wreck a front windscreen and be classed as 'housekeys' and be kept in the door panel.
Mnd you saying that a steering lock, how many people take it off their steering wheels then transfer to the boot? most people dump it on the back seat, hence a good enough reason. Saying that I DO NOT advocate violence, I'd rather walk away and treat them like the idiots they are..
  • There's nothing worse, i have this really bad habit of just edging out on people not indicating properly. Obviously I don't pull out but the look on some of their faces is priceless, especially when they go to gob off and realise theyre in the wrong.
