I drive an Audi and ALWAYS indicate as appropriate !!! :rotfl:

I thought the rule for straight ahead was no indication until past the first exit and then indicate left ?? ( unless the exit is not "straight" ahead )

Personally, if I saw a driver in the lefthand lane indicating right I would think they were being a muppet :rotfl:

A real annoyance for me is when car drift across lanes on large roundabouts - despite very clear lane markings.

And I'm a woman and I always indicate - see how generalisations can be annoying :rotfl:

The roundabouts where I indicate right for going straight (2 out of 4 of them) are the ones where if you don't indicate drivers will pull out presuming you're taking the first exit. I don't always do this as I'm fairly sure you should only indicate right if going right but I know I'm not the only person who does it.

As for drifting, here's a difficult one to explain. Approaching one of my roundabouts there's 3 lanes. The left lane is for going left only and the other two lanes are for straight ahead and right. It's just been resurfaced and the lane markings have been fixed but previously the left lane and middle lane actually shared the road as it wasn't wide enough. The other annoyance is that the first exit has 3 lanes that can join the roundabout. The left 2 lanes come from one main road but the right hand lane actually comes from a road opposite the exit to the roundabout so there are times when someone comes from that estate and technically has right of way but they've made their move so quick that 3 cars can end up in 2 lanes and cause havoc.
  • Not indicating in general makes me so angry I might have to start carrying a length of pipe with me or something. I just don't understand why it's so difficult! And then some of them have the cheek to get angry when they nearly run me over or nearly get crashed into! Bribing the driving test examinator doesn't make you above the law.

Near my home, I have to come up the hill and turn right at the roundabout into our village.

There are a number of cars that come down the hill and indicate right, so I assume they have right of way over me and wait for them to pass. It's so frustrating when they go straight over the roundabout meaning I've sat and waited for nothing. It happens a few times a week!
Here I go again on my own....

I know - it's a shame that the "correct" drivers have to compensate for the ignorant/lazy/thick/arrogant* drivers out there.

When I'm Prime Minister, I'm going to introduce a new offence of Failure To Indicate. Punishment will be 3 points, £100 fine and community service picking up dog turds, needles and a jolly good flogging.
    You get my vote!

Can I also ask that we have a length of pipe in car benefit of somekind so I dont have to pay for it

My annoyance is when there are cars sitting at the end of each entrance to a roundabout and no-one makes the first move to go! And then when some soul gets fed up with waiting and makes a move all the others do too!

Oh, another one is when people indicate for no good reason - just habit!

Yeah - but that is kind of funny when it happens...

I once watched a driver stop at a mini-roundabout and give way until the cars on the LEFT had all pulled out (no cars to the right) !!!

I know this may be a joke - but watched a program the other night - one of those Road Cops type of things (which REALLY annoy me - but don't get me started on that one ) - and the young chap driving had a baseball bat on the back seat. All was well until the copper asked him what it was for. He "ummed" and "arrred" for a while and then said "Self Defence" at which point the copper explained that he had no choice but to arrest him for carrying a weapon !!!

So - either take up plumbing or take up a sport ;)

I see that all too regularly at our local shopping centre. All it takes is one old dear who didn't have to do a driving test to get to the junction and all of a sudden, every man and his dog has been given right of way wrongly! On a main road there'd be a lot of people giving off but for some reason it's accepted in a supermarket.
