Thanks guys I'm still :j:j! I'm very impressed as I even got the contract today!?! I thought I'd be hanging around, but it would seem that it's all done electronically these days and rather than signing I just had to tick a box!
Now comes the hard part - resigning... I always feel guilty whenever I hand in my notice... Oh well, that's tomorrow's job. Perhaps they'll offer me lots of money to stay?!museumworker wrote: »And now you've just made me want an i-phone - FD don't have an android app at the minute
Hopefully they've got one in development and will bring it out soon as I can highly recommend it!0 -
Oh, and in other MFW news, I sold a book on Amazon today. That should net me a whole 30p... This is most definitely a marathon, not a sprint!0

Hi,
I'm assuming that the valuation was fine as we've now completed on the mortgage
but you've reminded me that I never received a copy of the valuation report. Does anyone know if that's standard with FD?

Wow - another week over so quickly.
I've got another 4 weeks left in my job now. Then I have a week off (we're taking DS to Disneyland Paris - can't wait!!) before I start my new job.
I've worked out how much my new job will change our income now. I should get an extra £225 a month, but I think that the change in tax credit levels will mean that we don't get any more, so that will be a drop of £39 a month, leaving me about £186 to the good... Plus there's a bonus attached to the new job which would enable me to get up to 10% extra each year... Not sure what the criteria is, but there's nothing like that where I currently am so it can only be a good thing!
I'm hoping that we'll put the extra income straight into the OPing pot. That will be really good because I'm lagging behind at the moment!
When I was in New York I bought some things for a friend and she paid me back this week, so I put that into the mortgage account as I had already spent the cash while I was away. That takes my OPs so far over the £100 mark. Still some way behind where I should be based on my £10k target, but hopefully I'll get there.
I'm planning on taking advantage of the zero insertion fees on eBay this weekend to try and get some extra pennies.
Have a good weekend everyone!originalmiscellany wrote: »but as the saying goes, every little helps!
It's so very true - and I sold another one yesterday too so it will all add up!0 -
Wow - another weekend over already

It's been a busy one too.
Swimming lesson with my son yesterday morning, followed by a trip to the park and lunch with a friend (would normally have gone out for lunch, but stopped via shops on way home from park and bought some nice food instead so saved a few quid).
Went out for dinner last night - cost £40 for DH and me, which isn't too bad as he had quite a few drinks...
Today was a NSD - my first since I started keeping a spending diary - roll on the next few.
Took my parents to the airport as they're off on hols for 2 weeks - that was very money saving though as I used their car, so saved me petrol :rotfl:
Listed some items on eBay today to take advantage of the free listing weekend and have got 1 watcher already so I'm pleased about that. Fingers crossed that my items are popular.
Oh, and sold another book on Amazon - that will net me another 30p for the pot :rotfl: Although I was talking to a friend yesterday who owns a shop and he said that he'll be happy to put my books on a shelf so that should get me more money for each book than I will get on Amazon

I've had a lovely Valentine's day evening. I bought the dine in for 2 from M&S at the weekend and DH cooked it for me this evening. We normally would go out for dinner, so that probably saved us about £20.
I've got some watchers on my eBay listings and had a bid on one item already, despite there being 8 days to go so I'm very pleased about that.
Only 1 week until pay day now too and then the overpaying can start in earnest

Just checked my online banking and noticed that the child benefit money went in today. Checked my DDs to make sure that everything has gone out for the month and then transferred £52.81 into the mortgage account.
This overpaying lark is so easy with FD - have I mentioned before how much I
their online banking?
Total overpayments now come in at £162.38. Must try harder next month!
I was very excited to login to my dooyoo account this morning to find that I have earned a crown for one of my reviews :j. I only started writing them last week, so I am over the moon that people are finding my reviews useful already

Hi there! Haven't caught up with your diary for a while, so am really pleased to hear all your good news....glad your NY trip went well, my friends are re-booking for later in the year after theirs was cancelled.
Woo hoo on your new job :j...and new pay increase...what wonderful news and makes OPing so much easier for you.
Oh and by the way...do you love you FD online banking?? :rotfl:"A smile takes but a moment...
...but the memory of it lasts forever"
