Oh - I forgot to add that I got paid from old job today and paid £630 straight into the mortgage account. I should be able to increase this too, but I wanted to see how much new job pays me at the end of the week first :D

Well done on the new job and the £630 over payment! (and the free food:D)

Great start to the week. I'm sure in a week or two you will not feel new. Great overpayment, and result on the free food. It doesn't happen often so enjoy it.

Oh my goodness, I've had a busy couple of weeks!

New job is still going well, although I've been on training courses again this week, so not been in the office much (more free lunches and petrol paid too so all good on the MFW front). From what I can tell though, I'm really going to enjoy the job but I am going to be busy...

My excitement about my OP was a bit short-lived as I didn't get paid from my new job last week, so I'll get an extra 2 week's pay next month. That's great and everything, but I OP'ed my £630 thinking that I would be getting more coming in! I can't bring myself to transfer anything back into the current account from the mortgage one though, so I will "borrow" anything I need to from my savings instead :)

Had a lovely time last weekend. Went away with some old school friends to the Cotswold to celebrate our 30ths. We thought it would be better to do that rather than buy each other pressies. Had a fab time, I don't think we stopped talking for the whole 48 hours we were away, they are a great bunch of friends :D. Then when I got back on Sunday we took DS to the park which was great fun, and then went out to dinner. It was the best weekend I'd had in a long while. The only thing that would have made it better was increasing the length so I could spend more time with my lovely little boy :)

I hope that everyone else's MFWing is going well.

    Rach x

Glad you are enjoying the new job, what a shame you didn't get paid as expected though. DH recently changed jobs and the old one massively short changed him in his last wage so been a very tight month for us - but we manage don't we!

Thanks Cath. Sorry to hear about your DH. I am so pleased that I left with holiday owed so it actually hasn't been too bad and I'm just trying to look forward to the next pay day which should be a bumper one.

Well, I'm still loving the new job. I can tell that I'm going to be really busy once I get into the swing of things, but I actually feel less stressed than I have done in a long, long time. I actually feel really happy too which is great as I've been struggling through things over the last few months. Perhaps I just needed a new challenge!

I've been trying to sort out lots of admin things this week, I made sure that I signed up for childcare vouchers before the deadline yesterday as I'm right at the top of the basic rate tax bracket now so I needed to future-proof my vouchers.

We're also now both getting the maximum amount of vouchers even though it's about £75 a month more than we actually need for our childcare. I figure that it helps to have a buffer if we need extra days for any reason and also I would like to have another baby so it makes sense to have vouchers in reserve ready for when we have 2 nippers in childcare. I'm now laughing at myself for talking about a baby when I've only just started my job, but I am starting to get broody again... I want to lose some weight first and settle into my job before I really think about baby number 2, so I reckon I'll give it more serious thought at the end of the year...

Now that I've started my new job and we're not going to get tax credits any more I'm going to do a new SOA so that I know where I stand now... I also need to think about reviewing my OP target for the year downwards as we've still got problems with our neighbours and it looks like it could be quite costly to get them resolved :(. I'm trying not to think about it too much though as we do need to find a resolution as we can't continue to live in dispute with them!

Also, my BIL lives in the US and we're really hoping to go and visit him in the autumn... That won't be cheap, but we're planning on making it our "summer" holiday as well, I just need to work out my budget but we're not going to book anything until I've completed my probation at work anyway.

A productive evening. Wrote my first DY review for weeks. If anyone feels like reading it it's for the Little Tikes Climb & Slide Castle... Yes, I'm shamelessly trying to get more reviews... ;)

I was walking to work this morning when I realised that DH's company haven't paid him the expenses that he claimed in February!! It's about £200 as well as it was for a trip to Germany, so I'm not impressed that it's not been paid, but at the same time quite excited that it will land in the bank account at some point and will help out our OPing. DH is chasing them up today so fingers crossed it should be in there soon.

Yesterday I found out that I can buy vouchers at a discount in my current job so I ordered a B&Q Gift Card as we get 15% off top ups, and I also got a Sainsbury's one as we get 5% off top ups on that. Ikea are on the list as well and we can buy paper vouchers at a discount, so that will come in handy once our garage conversion is done and we need to kit it out.

Still enjoying the new job, but been incredibly busy. Got a product suggestion on DY that I will aim to review over the weekend and I've found that OP has been a lot better on the survey front over the last couple of days too :D

Trying to not plan to do too much this weekend as I'm exhausted, but am going along to a Zumba class tomorrow morning to give it a whirl. If I like it then there's one local to me on a Monday evening that I'm going to aim for... I just hope that I don't make an idiot of myself, I'm quite clumsy!

Just caught up, the baby stirring for his feed so just a quick post, sorry...

I just signed onto DY ;)

The work bonus schemes are good aren't they. I need to take advantage of DH's works one.

I'm glad you're enjoying the job.:)

Hope you enjoy Zumba, i think it looks like lots of fun but hard work but it's results we all want after all. Glad you are enjoying the new job, it's so important to be happy at work.
