Nice to hear from you mummalove, thanks for stopping by

I'm glad that that your friends have managed to re-book. They must have been so disappointed when their flight was cancelled. On the plus side, they will probably be heading out to the Big Apple at a much better time of year really.
Thanks for the congrats on the new job. I'm really looking forward to it, but quite apprehensive at the same time. I hope that I can do the job...!
You would never guess my feelings about FD would you?! They should pay me to advertise :rotfl:0 -
ha ha...I am exactly the same constantly rambling on about surveys and cashback sites. Anyone would think I don't get out much...err..I don't really!!!
Am sure you will be up for new the job, they certainly did when they offered you the position

Just read your diary for the first time since you were in new york. So much going on.
Keep going with the little things. The new job and ebay and amazon will all add up to great things.
And you little dooyoo star you. Glad you are as addicted to MFW and dooyoo as i am.
It makes me feel a lot better to not be the only one. :rotfl: 0 -

Thanks Michelle. I am a little concerned that the new job may impact negatively on my dooyoo, eBay and Amazon efforts though :rotfl:. Currently I spend a reasonable amount of my day at work doing my OnePoll surveys and reading other people's reviews hehehe.
I'm still so pleased with my dooyoo achievements - I keep telling people. I'm such a geek!
Thanks for the supportive words about the job mummalove. I think that the job will be quite demanding, but should be good too and lots to learn.

Well, yet another week has gone by... only 3 more weeks at work now, then a week off (we're going to Disneyland Paris for a few nights - can't wait to get away) before starting my new job. Roll on next month - this notice period business is dragging me down!
I was so excited that I was going to be able to make my first "proper" OP this week, but then I realised that I bought quite a few things last month for our garage conversion and so we've got another large credit card bill. I've got the money in savings to cover it, but I'm trying to keep it in the savings account and not spend it. In reality it makes no difference, but psychologically I like not touching my savings unless I have to and as they're offset against the mortgage anyway then it's doing a job for me...
Things to do this week:- Post eBay items that end tomorrow - so far 2 out of 4 are going and hopefully at least one of the remaining 2 will as well as it's got a couple of watchers
- Do some dooyoo reviewing
- Make sure DH finds out when his expenses are getting paid, plus we're due a refund on a camera that we bought for my step mum which was faulty
- Take lunch to work every day
- Remember to get food out of the freezer each evening for the next day's dinner (I'm really bad at this one)

OMG - I have to declare my love for FD once again.
I noticed today that on your internet banking you can see how much your savings and current account balance have saved in interest by offsetting against the mortgage, and in the 24 days since having the mortgage I've saved £11.40 :j Doesn't sound like a lot, but mighty oaks from little acorns grow and all that!0 -
Another month over already, and my MFW journey is definitely a slowburner!
My Amazon money landed in my bank this morning so that went straight into the mortage account - all £4.38 of it!
I've just withdrawn £41.05 from my Paypal account from the eBay items that finished last week, so that should come through this week.
I'm owed about £140 from Quidco and it's annoying me that it hasn't paid out yet - especially as most of the transactions validated ages ago.
Feeling quite stressed out at the moment with trying to juggle working, house work and still spending time with my little boy. I don't think it helps that we're having some problems with our neighbours and I'm hating where we live. On the plus side that gives me some motivation to keep trying to pay more off the mortgage though...
Off to Disneyland Paris in 13 days and really can't wait. It's all paid for and our spending money is all changed up so at least that's all accounted for money-wise. It will do me good to get away again before I start my new job the following week.
Things I need to do in the next 2 weeks:- Find the right colour bricks for our garage conversion
- Arrange for building inspector to visit to check if concrete slab is thick enough already
- Send DH to the dump with unwanted things from garage
- Make my leaving cakes for last day at work next week
- Pick up my parents from airport on Wednesday

No wonder you're feeling stressed with everything you have going on.

Disneyland sounds exciting. OH wants to take the little ones but I'm not sure of the best age to take them. They are 18 months and 4 months so we have a while that we can wait yet!
At least you have the holiday to spur you on and look forward to.:)I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Thanks
My son is only 16 months so I'm not entirely sure what he'll make of it, but the good thing is that it's free for him on the Eurostar and free at the hotel and park so financially it works out well taking him now!! Also, I work in the travel industry so the whole thing is pretty cheap anyway and means that we can justify taking him again when he's older.
It will be interesting to see what he thinks of a life-sized Mickey Mouse... I hope that he doesn't get scared!

I'm sure he'll love it - it's good for any age, young or old. My OH really wants to go ...more for him than the children though !
That's the good thing about taking young children - at least they get in free. Just wait until you have to pay then it gets expensive going out as a family! *rolls eyes*I can't be bothered updating this anymore0
