Hi Rach, good luck with your MF journey. We're in a very similar position to you, in terms of income, outgoings and total mortgage, so I will be following with interest. I also seem to have what a lot of people would call a lot of disposable income that just fritters away :-/
One thing to think about is if you could cut your fuel costs? I'm very fortunate that I can work from home and only have to fill up my car once every couple of months - is it something you could do maybe even one day a week?Go your own way..

Happy belated birthday!
Well done on one-poll, it is such easy money!
Thanks!
I'm completely Onepoll obsessed now. Although I reckon that's likely to die down now I'm back at 25p in my account againHi Rach, good luck with your MF journey. Hello fellow fritterer
It's DH who costs us most of the fuel money, but soon he's going to be having one day off a fortnight to look after our LO, plus he can work from home if necessary. He's not long started a new job so I guess once he's all settled in then he could try and get a regular day working from home.
I've definitely been spending less since I started writing it all down (well, I stated yesterday :rotfl:). I think that a lot of my money goes on drinks and things when I'm at work... I reckon I'd spend less if I was at home. Although I could do with the income!0 -
Oh, I forgot to say that I also got a text from FD earlier to say they'd received the valuation and all was good on that front yay!:j0

Excellent news! Plus well done on the onepoll £40 payout, I am getting there slowly but surely...seem to be doing better on toluna at the moment though.
Glad your birthday went well hun, can't beat a bit of spoiling, something we never grow out of hey

Another day, another meal out
I think I chose the wrong month to start my MFW journey!
Luckily it was only £12 though including wine so not too bad. I've also stopped spending so much money "randomly" through the day. I'm making sure that I'm topping up my water at work now rather than going off to the canteen to buy a drink as that was eating up about £2 a day for me
I'm meant to be off on my New York trip tomorrow, but they've had about a foot of snow in the last 24 hours  so I just have to keep my fingers firmly crossed...0 -

Thanks mummalove. I definitely liked being spoilt... I think I'd quite like more than one birthday a year...

Happy belated birthday and enjoy new york!!!
I know the feeling of going to more "disposeable" income and feeling like there is less to show for it - I think its things like the £2 drinks or sweets or whatever that it gets frittered away on!
good news on FD valuation that should spur you on!

hi, just wondered if you got to NY? My friend who had her 40th on the same day as your 30th, was supposed to fly yesterday but all flights were cancelled
gutted for her... keep us posted x "A smile takes but a moment...

Oh no! Your poor friend
I know that a lot of Continental flights were cancelled on Thursday, was she meant to go on one of them?
Thankfully we got out there fine and arrived back this morning. Had a great time. It was very cold (unsurprisingly) and we spent quite a lot of money
. On the plus side we got some bargain clothes for our DS to grow into, so we didn't spend recklessly, just got some things over there that we'd be buying here anyway.
I was very excited over there yesterday to get a text message to say that we'd completed on our FD mortgage. Sadly I couldn't wait to login to my online banking to see exactly what we owe etc etc.
First lot of money from Onepoll came through last week and also got our £5 "reward" from the Halifax Reward bank account, so I've dutifully paid them into the mortgage account and set off our OPing.
From next month I'll be sending some money over on payday, plus any extra earned from Onepoll, Quidco etc. The other thing that will help is that I've set up our monthly mortgage payment to automatically overpay around £50.0
