Does anyone know of a comparison site for glasses? I seem to remember one of Martins e-mails saying something about ASDA doing free tints for anyone with an HC2 certificate. My neighbour needs new glasses. He hasn't had his eyes tested for about five years. He is 53 years old and mildly autistic so he can't have varyfocals. He has an HC2.

Yes. Your PD is just the measurement of the distance between your two eyes, so it doesn't change once you're fully grown.

if he has a hc 2 for full help he will be entitled to a free sight test and free glasses at asda- choosing from the nhs range. all the lenses there come with free a/r coat and hard coat and thinner lenses if he needs them. The tints are free too,

Boots Opticians in Central Milton Keynes have made my husband 4 sets of sunglasses in order to get one correct pair. Even worse they have spent 2 weeks re-ordering another pair of his useless £500 varifocals. Today we received a phone call telling us that they haven't even been re-ordered yet due to a computer glitch. Sorry don't believe them. Halfway through this complete farce he posted a message on their facebook page for some help and a kind person told him they would send him a private message - THAT WE NEVER RECEIVED!!! Guess what? - we will never buy any glasses from this complete shower again (and there are 3 of us in this household that wear them)! I have never experienced such appalling service in my entire life. It seems to have gone down hill since they merged with Dolland and Aitchison.

I have found a new shop in Cardiff and they also sell online . I bought two pairs of varifocals from GN Discount Eyewear . I paid £180 in total for the both pairs and one of the varifocals were transitions. The lenses were also the latest type of varifocal and in my previous optician I paid £300 just for one pair of varifocals so I had a fantastic bargain there.I would recommend them to anybody .

I have recently bought non-designer specs on line with selectspecs.com and it couldn't have been easier. Hundreds of choices of frames.

I bought 2 pairs of varifocals for £100. Admittedly they had to be sent from Hong Kong and at all stages of the process I was kept informed of their progress. I had to wait about 20 days (2 of them were Bank Hols) so not bad and I am very pleased with them.

If you buy designer frames for some reason they are made up in the UK, so shorter waiting time.

Is this statement correct ? You order glasses online and then go to high street optician for a final fitting and adjustment?
Wouldn't they charge you for this considering you didn't buy the glasses from them in the first place? I would.

I checked out the Glasses Direct offer and sadly I cannot order from them as they only go to -8.0

So this offer is not for anyone after all
