    Hyia,

I've just found out this thread and it's great!
I've just booked the free eye test plus cashback! and now I am trying to find out where to buy glasses from.
There's plenty of websites for that but I have no time to go through all of them to find the cheapest. Do you have any idea of who works best?

    Thank you!

I always use glassesdirect as I like their home trial feature

For over two weeks now, I have been trying to elicit a response from them regarding repairs to spectacles that they supplied almost a year ago.

They have not responded to messages through their website.

The warranty period is about to expire and I am suspicious that they wish to delay until it does expire, in the vain hope that I will not be aware that my contacting them before the expiry date invalidates their excuse.

If this is their idea of building a business with repeat custom, then it is lost on me.

    SHOULDA GONE TO SPECSAVERS?

Be very wary of cheap deals and research the company's after-sales service thoroughly before committing your money to their pockets.
  • Anyone tried this?
    I have just ordered regular lenses with anti-scratch & anti-refect = £5 +£4delivery=£9.

    (They do other types/parameters, too)
They send me a case and label, I put my glasses in it with my latest prescription, post it back, and that should be that.
Sounds good. I will have to see.

If it works, I may have another set needs doing, too.

Guess they have made good use of Amazon's v.low postage to bring the price down(?) but sounds interesting.

There it is in case want to check it:

Freegan, I replied to you on the other thread. Please respond when you can.

Superdrooper. Sounds to good to be true with prices that low, mobile number and no physical address. As we know the cost of doing a reglaze I would advise to avoid.

the numbers on the frame arms was mentioned - all my specs have them BUT the are listed thus : 19/140.
this translates to bridge size/frame size (edge to edge of specs) respectively. hope this makes things easier for some people.
Hi, an edge to edge measurement is never stated on frames, what you refer to is either a product SKU code or the 140 is the total side length, the 19 could be the bridge and the lens size may be elsewhere on the frame or could have rubbed off. If an offer looks to good to be true then it usually is, there are lots of fake and stolen glasses online, even fake contact lenses that aren't even sterile have been discovered after people have gone blind as a result of infection. Also be aware that opticians are charging anything up to £120 to fit glasses purchased online.

there's only 2 rubbish Bench frames at S4eyes.
  • One of the best people for prescription glasses I have found are Spex4less. There service is fast and efficient and if you make a mistake they will generally provide help and correct it without charge. Also I have managed to damage my glasses twice by dropping a heavy box onto them and on both occasions they were repaired without charge even though I offered.
