Well I've managed to find a pic of the basis of my dress (not great but you'll get the general idea I hope lol) which I hope loads. Thanks heavens for google images!
I wouldn't mind some opinions on what to do with my hair. I've got quite fine hair which I am trying to grow at the moment and I'm planning on having a headband rather than a tiara to go with it.

I really like the lines of that dress, it is sleek and simple and I think that if you are trying to grow yor hair now and it is long enough come the time, why not avoid the tiara and headband idea altogether and go for a sleek look which knots to one side at the nape? Your hairdresser can add in sections to fill it out a little and then it could be accessorised with a flower or two. Look out for large fake flowers in sales such as Claires as one of these would be enough to go with the style of dress? No longer ...tobe! Oooh I love that dress - I was going to try it on in Pronovias, but got distracted by other things! What adaptations are you having? It's so elegant.
A good friend of mine had extensions in her (also very fine) hair on her wedding day, and was able to have curly hair, which she wanted. That said, I agree with MrsC, that a sleek updo with flowers to soften it would go with the style of the dress.
What kind of a hairband were you looking at?If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

MrsC....tobe wrote: »lol V and Jo! Yes I am brave - they are 4 nieces and my future step daughter (maybe) so at least my sisters will be there to look after their off spring for me, and granny for step daughter. They are generally well behaved kids tho my sister calls her youngest two 'terrorists'! It could be interesting but lovely and cute all the same! I want them to enjoy the day as much as me and as the only kids will be immediate family kids I don't mind them running around as much. No more children will be there to stress me out tho!
Well, it sounds like you have them well under control! Good luck!If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

Hi
I'm having a kind of lace overlay which will look like a lace jacket so that I can have my arms covered but not be too warm which will (from how the dress maker described it) look like icicles going down into the dress so it looks like part of the dress too. I hope that makes sense.
As for headband, I've seen one from Ivory & Co but it's way too expensive. I can't actually remember what it's called but I've got the link at home which I'll tag on later. Think it was about £300!0 -
V, that sounds BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to see pictures when it is done. I'm going to the NEC wedding show this weekend (well, Friday) with my ma, ma-in-law-to-be and sister; looking forward to that a lot!
Then on Saturday, we are doing wedding dress trying on, as haven't done any of that with my mum yet, and hoping she will enjoy it as much as I have so far!
Most importantly, though, the third weekend in March, we are hopefully viewing three venues: Kingscote Barn, Cripps Barn and Birtsmorton Court. Fingers crossed that by the end of March we might have a venue booked! It is hard to get much else sorted until that is done!
Hope you're all well, Jan ladies, xxIf at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

Cripps barn appears unavailable throughout Jan 2012.
Also very long and thin so those at ends could feel a bit out of it?
Just some thoughts. xx0 -
I know mama, but we're going to go and see it, as it's hard to tell from pics. Also Jan is apparently unavailable, but they said in their email that they can be flexible.

Update:
Went to the NEC wedding show at the weekend with my mum and sis. It was fun, but I wouldn't go to another big one (11.50 per ticket plus 8 to park....!) as the stalls were pretty similar. It was cool to try on a few dresses from people like Ian Stuart, as I'd never bother going to a shop to do that (I think his dresses are a bit fussy!)
Also tried on a LOAD of dresses with mum on the Saturday, I think we might have narrowed it down to two possibles. Will try and post when I get home (haven't uploaded pics onto work computer!) One that mum likes best is beautiful, but I want to adapt it a bit (where's the smiley for 'never satisfied'...?)
Hope you're all well. xxIf at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

Very excited, as DF and I will be spending this weekend looking at three possible venues: Cripps Barn, Kingscote Barn and Birtsmorton Court!
Wish me luck ladies, I might be back on Monday with a date and a venue booked (fingers crossed!)
I also might have found The Dress - Romantic, style name Edwina, but with the sleeves of this one added on. What think you, January ladies? xxIf at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

Good luck jojo - all those venues look lovely! I bet you'll end up having a hard time deciding between them all.
The dress is also very beautiful and I'm sure it'll look even nicer with the sleeves added.
