Well, I can answer one question. I had the choice of using my other username but I'd rather keep that for my personal thoughts, opinions and freebie-hunting. This one's more "official" (when I've got used to posting under the appropriate one)

I can see why if it's to do with debt/pension etc. Cos you may need to go back to it some months later. But in the case of freebies or grab it while you can. I don't know w hy they remain long after the offer has finished. ???
