Couple of questions about my dog..
Comments
-
For the first question, I always leave a towel just behind the door in wet weather, so I can grab my dog, and wrap him up straightaway, before he makes a mess.
For the second, mine goes where he wants in the garden, although he doesn't go on the paved area, and tends to keep to the edges. Its like looking for a needle in a haystack, clearing up poop; as I've a large garden.0 -

.
It doesnt work - he still shakes when I unwrap him - I have just purchased 2 of the dog bags things so that I can rotate them - fingers crossed he doesnt mind wearing one!0 -
My goodness, sorry but this is a live creature, not a stuffed toy. Let him behave like one.0

Hopefully the wrapped towels will have done their work. Just make sure you rub him down while wrapped if possible.0 -

My dogs behave like dogs, but I still try and cut down on wall wiping!
OP, a friend of mine with setters uses the towels bags and towelling coats. Mine suffice with towels at the bag door, but one does wear a (washable) fleece suit outside and in cold weather something lighter inside!0 -
But you can't be TOO houseproud when you have a dog. Wet shakes, muddy paw marks and dog hairs are going to happen....Lifeisbutadream wrote: »?????

I don't think you stop them shaking - you just learn how to duck out of the way yourself bettter. Mine will shake himself dry after every single snowflake lands on him in the snow - makes walkies take an eternity. I didn't expect an immaculate house when I took on a dog to be honest - planned things so we always bring him in via the back door onto the kitchen floor where things are easily cleaned up, I've got a manky old rug on the floor near the door to catch the worst of the muddy paw factor and we've got throws in the car boot where he travels and a towel on hand at various places and we just try to wipe him before he shakes to get the worst off.
Best bit is the look of disgust on the cat's face when he shakes himself dry - she looks at him like "my goodness haven't you ever heard of personal grooming!"Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
have you got a garage where he could shake and get dry then let him in the house just to cut down on the mess in the house and still let doggy be himself?Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
