Hi Lam2011 - just wanted to say hi and that I know exactly where you are coming from re denial etc. Was like that myself initially.

And don't worry one tiny bit about running out of ideas as there are soooo many postivit attitudes on here, we'll all help you through.

    Have you started a diary?

    x

Garfield - have you decided what to do yet :)

    xx

Hi Debtfree - thanks for words of encouragement. I have a sort of diary on an excel sheet attached to my workings. Will try find time over the weekend to put it into a diary that doesnt sound like the ramblings of a madwoman :D
  • Nope still havent decided - I'm sooooo indecisive!! lol! think i will just wait and see if OH mentions it again and hope he pays :) terrible I know!!

I would go on orange wednesdays but i live 40 miles away from the cinema so when I take my fuel into account it doesnt work out much less. I'm heading up to see my mum anyway tonight so will be 2 miles from the cinema. I've just been paid for my ebay sales - woohoo and have transferred from paypal so hopefully that wont take so long.

    Enjoy Friday night everyone :)

    hi Garfield
just found your diary. I can relate to a few things too so will pop in now and again to keep up. My OH doesnt know all my debt - tbh I am still in denial of all of it. Getting on top of credit cards this year and will do the loan next year. I also know what you mean about only seeing the totals go down monthly but I need to realise (after only having my LBM on Sunday this week) that there is no easy fix.

I can make a good start decluttering and ebaying but I am worried that after that I may run out of ideas / spare money although finding this forum an absolute inspiration.

I admire you trying the weight loss too - I am hoping by cutting down on my spending I will cut down on my comfort eating and hopefully lose the stone I need to at the same time lol.

I have been wanting to see the HP movie so again can relate to that too and actually now that you mention it I would like to see the Kings Speech too :D.

Good luck with it and well done on what you have achieved so far. I hope I can do as well as you.

    Hi Lam,

Nice to have you along. Its horrible only seeing changes once a month, really hard to get motivated. I'm not a very patient person :o so have decided to cut my debt saving days down to days aswell as the payday payments. I transfer £140 a month to my own account to use and once I have paid for diesel I reckon I have about £3.50 a day to spend on myself. This then builds up over the week as I try not to spend and then I have some for the weekend or to pay off my next account. Its just a way to keep myself busy so I dont lose myself and end up spending!...............

Weight loss - argh! I honestly think I have more chance of paying off £25k in debt quicker than I can lose 25 pounds off fat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl: and another challenge begins - lol

  • Hello,

I've had an okay weekend so far. Didnt go to the cinema in the end - yay! payday is on thursday so I am going to treat us on friday night instead - wow - my patience has come back.....a little at a time anyway.

Was having a look for more stuff to sell on ebay today and have come across another nice little bundle of clothes so fingers crossed they sell! Still have quite a bit to find to pay off next account so will probably end up working my third job next saturday to get that done.

When going through my wardrobe it was very depressing as I really need some new clothes for work. I'm determined not to buy any until April though and will try and mix and match what I've got.

Did my shopping today and it came to £91 :( This is paid out of our joint account though which we put the same amount of money into every week so it doesnt make a difference to my calculations. However this is only for two of us and will probably last about a week and a half. I had to buy washing powder, toilet rolls etc so at least thats the expensive things out the way for another month or so!

Hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend and is ready for more debtbusting this week. PAYDAY is LOOMING - woop woop :)

Forgive me for being naive, but what sort of clothes sell well on ebay? Have a few nice party frocks but they're not designer label or anything, and I never get taken anywhere where I could/would wear them. Not the sort of thing to wear down the local working mens club :rotfl:

  • Hi Rachel,

Hope you had a good weekend :)

The ones that appear to be selling really well are clothes bundles! I put a couple of bundles on and I ended up getting more for a bundle of primark etc clothes than I did for my next bundle of clothes!!
The amount of money I got for them was only a fraction of what they were worth but I know I will never wear them again so I'm just happy to get rid of them and get some space in my cupboard.

If you go into ebay and type in clothes bundles you will see what kind of stuff is on offer. Its amazing what some people sell !!!!

How are you getting on with your debtbusting?

  • Wow, can only dream of that figure. I'm hoping to get paid Fri if the boss remembers:eek:. Sometimes we get paid last Fri of month, sometimes last working day of the month. There should be lots of debtbusting activity on the site over the next week :T
