Didn't realise till I read the paper this morning that the Nintendo Wii is going to be hard to get for Christmas (surprise surprise !) tried everywhere today and at last with the advice of this posting managed to get one from Virgin mega store. Didint get any bundles just the Wii with sports package as part of the price - £179.00 with free delivery. Took it while it was there as I am not going to go through the sweating I had two years ago when I tried to get a Pink Nintedo dogs !!!Hopefullly will get a good deal somewhere now on some extra games...0

PLAY.COM may appear to operate under UK law but they dont. They only offer a 28 day warranty for faults after that you have to go to the manufacturer, no matter where in the world they are based. They are based in Jersey. The following are two different conversations with staff today Sunday.
1) Got a xbox360 7 weeks ago from play.com, develops a fault contact them. Course we will replace, but we require the games that were part of the bundle (even though they were out of stock and sent a week later).
Of course I have traded the games in so havent got them, but they will not replace faulty console on its own (even though they sell it on its own). MS policy!
2) Checked their website, package no longer done so how can they replace? Rang back explained story put on hold. At first told they would refund purchase price said this was silly as they could potentially losing the business if I went elsewhere. Put on hold, then was told she had got it wrong and they would not accept back at any cost! I would have to go through MS as they were the manufacturer and PLAY.COM accept no liability after 28 days for any item.
Have spent close to £700 in last 12mths with them, told them I will be closing my account when they confirmed the are not bound by UK laws.0 -
My Son Has Suddenly Announced That He Would Prefer A Wii To An Xbox As Was Previously On His Xmas Wish List. I See The Wii Is Hard To Get, And Since My Brother Is Going To America Next Week, I Wondered Is It Any Cheaper Out There And Can Their Model Be Used Here In The Uk?0

At the moment, Carphone Warehouse are offering pay monthly phones in bundles with games consoles. So, if you're looking for a new phone and a console, these can be a real bargain deal!
http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-monthly/free-nintendo-wii/

They all seem to involve a long contract, but that's to be expected these days.
Obviously compare with other tariffs that don't include the consoles and see if it's worth the extra monthly cost - but I think it's an effective way of spreading the payments for these pricey consoles.
See what you think!0 -
Here is a good UK based site to compare the cheapest games consoles:

Gives you a idea where to find the best deals, then find discount codes to get them even cheaper! :money:0 -
