  • Hi, I don't know where else to ask so sorry but it is kinda money saving.

Was thinking that I probably won't be storing movies or music on hard drive of 360 as looks like can stream from computer but need to store downloads and players stuff but 20g hard drive seems expensive.

Can you not buy a USB stick (not microsoft as they are expensive) or even USB external harddrive?
  • I was mooching thru argos website and wondered if they had any pink ds lite in stock for delivery and they did!!
So if anyone is after one it may be worth checking out argos!!
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals :p
  • Not that I'm trying to bump this or anything, but does anyone konw of any good after xmas deals for xbox 360s or PS2s? Cheers All!

Yep you can use any external storage that uses USB with the 360. You get the option to save to remote storage for downloads etc. I use a Corsair 2Gb USB stick and a Western Digital Mybook 320 as additional storage devices.

  • I am looking for Pink Nintendo DS lite preferably with Nintendogs.
Everywhere seems out of stock on pink....anyone spotted a great bargain post Christmas.
Needed for birthday pressie next week.
  • Its nearly been a month since this thread was posted on, and although its not christmas anymore so there probably wont be any crazy parents on here looking for the best deals for their kids, I've decided to
    *BUMP*
this thread, as I've been looking for it for ages, and only found it cos i posted on it a while back!

I also got a tip, but whether it'll benefit anyone is another matter. If your at the end of a phone contract, or want to take out a fresh one, e2save are offering a free* xbox 360 or PSP with certain phones on certain tariffs. I'm pretty sure the 360 is the core edition, and the PSP's vary between white and black with various contracts.

I've not heard too much about the company, but i'm sure they're an affiliate of the Carphone Warehouse so might be okay to go with. So if anyones intereted, theres a *free* new phone, *free* xbox 360 or *free* PSP, for as little as £630 (based on an 18month contract at £35 p/month - although i'm sure i found one for under £30 t'other day, in fact I just did, £507.42 is one of the cheapest I can find)

You may think "Thats not that cheap, but when you consider xbox 360 core - £200, new Samsung mobile phone - £180 and 18 month contract - £507.42 (even 12 months at £338.28) gives a total of £887.42 (£718.28 for 12 month contract) its not such a bad deal. Okay you could also take the phone price off, as it'll be free with most contracts, but still, all together its quite a saving!

Moral of the story, lets not let the thread die in the 'archives' of MSE and keep looking for, and sharing any good offers we can find. Especially with PS3 coming out, expect a price war going on with Microsoft and Nintendo slashing prices and offering "Unbeatable" deals, times are soon to be good for gamers me thinks!
  • They do DS Lite's as well I believe!

I used a tip from a thread on this site suggesting ordering the Xbox 360 package (rrp £309.00) from Great Universal after joining Quidco - got 20% off first order with great universal and free delivery took it to £247.20 and 8% back through Quidco - total price of £227.42p. The only catch is that I wanted to pay cash but Great Universal only apply the 20% discount for first orders when an account is opened.

I can live with that will just throw the catalogue, pay it as soon as invoice arrives and then close the account - jobs a good one !!!

Took the plunge and ordered, still at £247 price!!!!! Bargain.......and I'm spreading the payments, never done that before but thought I could use the money I get from selling my junk, I mean, high quality items on Ebay, so it'll be like it's free! :T

Anyone got an updates? I'm planning to buy a 360 and having a hard time to find one below £279.99.
  • Seems about it for now. You can get some great bundles though, they pop up on hotukdeals often enough.

There are rumours swirling about a us price drop to $200 (and therefore uk price drop soon after to £200), smart money's on September, just around Halo 3 and gta.

Microsoft are naturally saying they have no such plans but with the ps3 now released and expensive and the wii popular and inexpensive, a price cut would allow microsoft to wind sony's troubled console's sales and catch up to the wii.

Having said that, i'd have picked up some of the bundles i've seen if I had the credits.
