Tappers - why do you say HM bread is a no no on SW? I count my HM wholemeal as a HEX (I weigh it so it's right amount). I only have 2 slices a week though so it's not too bad I guess!

Bitsy - Tappers has very kindly got me the new SW food directory so you can have a browse at that on Sat :)

    x

you're right Flutterby:T - you can have HM bread as a HE if you weigh it - I said that because it is hard to stick to such a small amount with HM bread - I bet you dont get much !:D

Bitsy - I have the latest magazine which you are welcome to if you havent already got it!

Slightly late happy birthday to Beemuzed. I'm afraid that by the time I come to post I can never remember very many details of all the chat, there is so much of it! So general hello and take a hug from the pile if you want one.

Anyway, I decided I'd like to get back to posting in forums more (I am a member of one or two others as well as MSE), so here I am procrastinating! My passport wants renewed this year, so as they can add on the time left to your new passport thus not wasting any of it, I thought I'd get on now lest I forget. The effing photos have already cost me £5 for a strip of 4! I don't even have anything planned for which I'd NEED a passport (nor am I likely to have!), but I'd rather have one and not use it right away or for a bit, than find I want/need it but don't have one IYSWIM?

While I'd be having passport photos anyway I figured it'd be a good idea to get a railcard, while I'm still eligible for one (just!), so have been sorting that out too today. Need to pop into the station to pay and get the card done tomorrow, luckily it's in walking distance and not far out of my way. Thought I may as well save some pennies in that department for a year.

And on top of that pretty little lot, I have travel and hotel to book for a wee holiday I'm planning. Perhaps some of you will be able to enlighten me as to why on earth I am doing all this now, in January, when I have no money? Money Saving Expert indeed, I should be posting on Money Spending Eejit at this rate.

Happy Birthday Beemuzed - hope you have had a fab day!

Hope you feel better soon Pen-Pin.

Not much to report here, had a very busy day at work and then went to visit friend to take her some eggs. Her OH gave me a fab map (all framed), a copy of a 1902 Scottish Distilleries map which is about 4 feet by 3 feet. Now need to decorate the hall so I can do it justice.
Spoke to DS2 today who is doing well at uni and has passed the first half of his exams with an A and a B, so well chuffed with him.

Had chicken and stir fry veg fir tea which was yummy and a salad for lunch. Just a shame I ate a load of sweets earlier in the day!

Hope you are all well, take care. XX

Just finished washing up and clean up of the kitchen.

I meant to tell you that DH has lost 5lbs on the diet as well earlier and he is a happy chappy and is quite enjoying it ( He is having a lot more carbs than me ) He is active but I am not because of my knees.
We have got to go shopping tomorrow and I have a prescription to pick up so that will get me out for a while - scooter battery is charging now.

DD has gone to stay at her BF's which is a good thing at the moment because I am fast losing patience with her attitude
DS is still doing his homework but I think it is about time he had a bit of a break.

    Sleep well all x

    beemuzed happy birthday!
    Ally welcome to the daily!
BB well done on the weight loss!

Hey all, ahhh peace at last!!!

Been a hectic day, rushing from one place to another.

Went to the sewing / quilting class today and everyone was lovely and very helpful.I'm youngest one there by at least 30 + years, but everyone was so friendly i instantly felt comfortable. Some of the quilts the other members had made were amazing.

Next week i'm taking machine in, the tutor offered to show me how to use it. OH picked me up too so i didn't have to rush home:D.

Hectic at the course too, everythings suddenly picking up going to do a bit more work before heading off to bed.
Had a vedy succedsful tea, strecthed a portion of mince mix to feed 3 kids and two kids, was very tasty. The kids ate all of it too, so no whining either:T:T.

Ahhh fresh coffee, time to chill!

    Buenos Tardes

    bdaycake: beemuzed

Well it is almost 9 here and just had our dinner, we are looking at new settees for out here, and you have to go after siesta.

Did find a very nice 2 +3 settees with recliners, will mull it over.

Well eventually remembered to get the mince in the SC today, with chopped toms and herbs, and lentils. Must have been OK as DH had a second helping, which is most unlike him. Weighed mine out so didn't break the WW points rules, not convinced I am losing though, but will weigh myself Weds. a.m.

Pen-Pin Glad the nurse could work her "magic", it is nice to see you posting and miss your posts when you are not up to it. Hope the hospital visits go well and prove fruitful.

BB congrats to you and all others on the weight loss.

May be enough mince for one of us tomorrow, will see, maybe get a chicken, do like them.

Better say goodnight now. Take care all DG

Just watched the ten o'clock news and the site of John McAreavey rubbing his wife's coffin and placing a kiss on the side of it reduced me to tears. So sad - they looked so fabulously happy in the wedding pictures. Nothing in that hotel room was worth her life. I hope she rests in peace x

  • Hi chums ,had a good evening at Uni and just popping my head around the door to say night night. My parsnip and apple soup was delicious .Youngest DD has another interview tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed again for her.

Eldest DD had her friends DD's funeral today which was very sad as she was only 18 bless her.Her boyfriend turned up, but none of the family had anything to do with him as he had left her just 6 weeks before she died. She leaves a little boy of 2 but His Granny is going to be his full-time carer. What a wicked waste ,she had bone cancer and from diagnose until her passing it was exactly 6 months. 18 is such a young age to be taken from her family I have two DGDs who are 18 this year and I can't imagine what her poor Mum is going through tonight.
I shall say a little one for them all before I go to sleep.
Tomorrow I have a huge essay to get started on, all about the sewage system of 19th century London and how it changed so many lives. That should keep me busy for awhile at least .
Well I'm off now so good night God Bless all here
