Yay!!!
Got some new cake storage tins yesterday and carefully put some decorations from years ago (graduation cake) back in the tin I had used for the xmas cake - including the bits that had broken off.
Then thought 'why??? I've got photos of the cake and I am in no danger of forgetting the day' - so bits binned - and some other stuff I found on the top shelf - so thank you piggers.
Meant to say - sorry to hear about DS1 and GF.0 -

Morning everyone!
Yeep! We're supposed to have snow here today! Had someone visit yesterday and basked, yes basked in the clean-ness and orderlyness of downstairs. (would have been a different story if they'd opened the utility room door or gone upstairs though!)
Going to make a big effort on upstairs today. Got a fire safety officer coming on Friday to assess the place. Will be very interested to see what he suggests regarding our escape routes from the upper floor. It's a 30 foot drop on either side, which has always worried me.
New dressmaking class tonight. Looking forward to that, and thankfully the garage has given me a courtesy car so I can actually get there!
seafarers Oh dear, we'd have made a right pair last night. Missed your post, but I did nearly post just to vent about KH who decided to contact DS1 via FB (for the first time in about 10 years) with a "happy birthday, I've not been in touch because your mother would rather I didn't contact you or the other children. Now you're a big boy you can decide for yourself" message.
Totally untrue, KH has always known where we live/had the phone number/could always visit if arranged first, he chose not to, and the children have always known that, but it still upset me. Oddly as well, that same morning, got a CSA reassessment, phoned them up, and they have actually caught up with him. (after years and years of him eluding them/not paying child support) Bit of a roller coaster day emotionally for me- not that I let it spoil DS's day, but I did stay up rather late with the rest of the wine and fret about it. Typically selfish dramatic gesture from KH though. I'm so glad to be away from that relationship!
Off to find a list and some parrots for my hangover..... x
