Mr S has been - must remember to tick no substitutions next time as I sent most of them back. Jerry has to go to the vets again on Thursday for an xray so I need to drop him off before work and pick him up after. I ended up having my mate's 2 kids for a couple of hours as well inbetween going to the vets and Mr S coming so that was my night gone.

Dreadful attempt on the flying today, my heart is really not in it right now.

Took flowers and cake to my poor friend and her family.
Made cakes for cake sales tomorrow - just need to ice
    Took DS3 to cricket nets

Mentally and physically drained now so a quick tidy up in the kitchen and then away to bed.

Went for a walk this morning because the sun was out - it's been a while :) Downside was that I had to go to pc shop / bank / post before I'd done my meal plan. The up side was I did some exercise again! Just me and my ipod - roads were a bit icy still so had to keep watching my feet but it was good to be out again.

Flying has been good these two days but I've spent the evening meal planning and my head is spinning! Four of us - me Rosemary Conleying(ish) so trying to match up to everyone else as far as i can - that bit's not too difficult. However, thought I'd cracked it then realised that the 2 DSs are either working or away for most of the week and won't be eating with us so roasting chickens and making pies don't work...I'm surrounded by recipe books and bits of paper - it'd better get easier or food will go the way of ironing and it'll be every man for himself :p

Hope everyone's had a good day - nite all

  • Thanks for your post Serena and everyone else who has posted today. You are all so inspiring. I really tiredtoday and I was resistant to doiong any of the tasks for the day. But I did some of them anyway and am delighted that I did. Bit by bit it will get better. Like melody69 the only water my front d0oor has seen in the last 3 years is rain and the window above the door was filthy. Now there's an admission! But never fear fellow fliers it is now clean and the light will shine in tomorrow morning. Its great I've felt ashamed about the muck for so long. It is such a lovely little cottage and I have felt guilty about not looking after it properly.

Great to be dealing eith it at last. Just doing it. :T

Tuesday ~ Hall, Stairs and Landing!
    Level One
Declutter the floors and mop them( my hall is tiled.) Done
Tidy everything you can see when the front door is open! Done

    Level Two
Dust and deweb.. don't forget lightbulbs and shades! Done
Scrub front door.. inside and out! Done

    Level Three
Empty and declutter the hall cupboard under the stairs. (no stairs). you do not need the junk that has been in there for a million years! Done
Empty Vacuum cleaner, wash filters and clean brushes once you have finished vaccing.. leave to fully dry before rebuilding machine! Done and now know that I need to order some new filters. Do people really wash filters every week? Well maybe you do and maybe now I do. Got to get easier each time.

The cleaning is taking longer that I thought it would. I couldn't believe how look it took to clean out the hall cupboard. But it is right next to the door and it was really horrid in there. I was quite squeamish at first but stuck at it rather than shutting the door on the squalor.

On my way to having a wonderful life

I'll drink to that  I know what you mean about things taking ages - I did stairs/landing/door last week and it took about 6 hours (including taking books off the shelves) and it's not a huge space - it looks great though and today's going over was much quicker so it does get easier :)

In fact I got excited and ended up washing all the downstairs outside windows just because I'd got "the stuff" together to do the front door :D Windows have been bugging me for ages (cat paws) but no-one ever managed to get round to it - all it took was a bucket of water and a sponge - duh!

Off to bed now and feel really sleepy for a change - walk and windows worked! x

I thought as much! (about the stone cold dead part) which is why I had thought it couldnt have meant 'other half'.... surely you would have been on here reporting you need volunteers to help dig up the patio! Bless him! BF is also half-blind with no specks and Ive caught a few bumps/elbows in the dark as he has been lifting duvet covers, getting comfy etc... but im not as fragile as you pet.... Poor OH, I bet he felt right guilty after!

Nah.. he laughed at me being made of glass.. quite normal ;)

I don't use my vacuum once a week.. stuff like this is a 'play by ear' kind of thing.. is it once a month or once every so many uses that is suggested? if it doesn't need to be done.. don't do it.. simple as..

It gets quicker.. trekking through the lists the first few weeks is a pig but then it gets easier.

Sagaville here again.. DS1's gf kicked him out, told him he won't ever see Jacob again.. yada yada... I have my dustpan and brush for the pieces... and possily a lodger.. :(

    Have been flying high today:

    House hoovered x2
    Bathroom cleaned
1 load of washing done and dried
Bedsheets washed , dried & put back on
    Cooker top cleaned
    All surfaces wiped down
    Dishes done & put away
    sink cleaned
    Fridge cleaned out
    Floor cleaned in kitchen
Bin taken out and wiped down
    Electrical items wiped down
Threw joint birthday party for aunt/uncle
Then tidied up after said party

Then scoffed a whole load of biscuits while typing this...which is totally unlike me, but i normally i never have biscuits in the house so that may be why.......

    Hope everybody ok.xxx
