I am really enjoying this thread and the challenges, its really given me to motivation and the kick I have needed! I am not however looking forward to sorting out the lounge and the bathroom...those 2 rooms are a nightmare!!

    HI bella:hello: It's great here isn't it!

If you're really up against it in those rooms, take five minutes and a cup of tea, and think about why they aren't working.

    Key questions

Is there loads of stuff in there that should be somewhere else?

Is there stuff just plied up because it belongs in that room, but you've nothing to store it in?

Is there just piles of junk that you can't face?

Or is it just dingy and dirty? (You don't have to own up to that one!!)

    Or need redecorating?

    Some solutions

    1. Put on loud lively music and grab a dustbin bag, and rush round for five minutes gathering up all the carp and bin it.

    2. Start on one corner, or one shelf or one chair, and clean it thoroughly. Keep that spot clear, and then do another one next to it. This is AnW's mum's patented dot-to-dot method. Eventually all the dots will join up into a clear space.

    3. Every time you go out of the room, remove something that doesn't belong there, and relocate it.

    4. Decide what storage you need in that room, and see if you can get hold of it - fom another room, from family, from freecycle etc

    5. Every time that room comes up on the list, do what you can, and then leave it for that week. the bits will add up to a transformation in the end.

    6. Make a mood board of cuttings etc of pictures of how you'd like the room to be - then take baby steps to getting it that way.

...and if you think my house is perfect, then you'll be very mistaken. I'm here because I need to be here.:D

Top post Serena :A, I am going to print that one out to pin up in the kitchen. One day my house will be clean and tidy again.

    Hugs for Dusty

Thanks for the Boots heads up Triker, there wasn't a massive amount left at Meadowhall yesterday.

I need to sort my tax return, empty and fill the DW, empty and fill the TD, do some ironing and feed myself.
