    Maybe he should message back

'Did you know where we lived? Did you have a phone number? And surely if you wanted to see us you would have made the effort even if it meant getting a court order'

    :p:p

It is water under the bridge now and even if the children do get in touch with him it'll take about 5 minutes for them to form an opinion

And.. :T:T re CSA hopefully you will get a big fat cheque and KH can moan about that too!!

I think that's what he's planning to do, along with a few choice words about how he regards hubby as his dad (well, according to his big sister with whom he had a long talk last night and who phoned me later on thinking I might be upset) I-rather wisely I think- refrained from commenting too much about it to DS after he showed me the message. That old "don't want to influence the children either way" instinct kicking in! Hubby thinks he should message back and not just ignore it. Both DD1 and DS1 remember him, and also what he was like, and continues to be like, so it seems they've already made up their minds. DD2 and DS2 don't remember him at all given that DS2 was 2 when he last saw him and DD2 was 4. I think I was more cross about KH doing his usual and making it all about him, when it was DS1's birthday. He could have waited a few days, or sent a birthday card or something! He did virtually the same thing on DD1's 18th and she told him exactly what she thought of him.
Re the CSA. Yes, well that was a shocker in a good way. Phoned them and found out they've put a deductions of earnings order on him, (given his behaviour) so maybe, just maybe we'll get something the middle of next month.
Off to pull sheets of the bed.

socks.. I agree it would be rude to just ignore KH but choice words from DS would be appropriate and :D for hubby being his dad.. What a compliment! He needs to add at the beginning.. 'thanks for remembering my birthday' lol .. and maybe 'Can I have a card with cash in future' :p..

  • Didn't do any flying yesterday, felt lousy: think my meds were playing up. Still sunshining today and feeling better.
Master bedroom actually not bad so I think I will tackle yesterday's jobs instead and skip MB this week.

When we open the front door, the hall is actually clear, as a) no kids, lol, and b) it's fairly narrow and we hate tripping over stuff.
But there is some clutter growing in the upstairs hallway and it all needs a good sweep/hoover.
Area understairs is just, cleaning tools hanging up, freezer and recycling bins and no rubbish.

    Yesterday gave away:
    • old but working blender
    • car vacuum cleaner
    • spare carbon monoxide alarm
    • spare 4 socket extension lead
Getting rid of more of my stuff to make more room for OH's:

Dining room filled (totally) with OH's stuff he has finally moved it from where it was stored. Plus quite a bit in our front room too. So I am helping him gradually sort all this. Yesterday I shredded 15 years worth of petrol receipts:eek:. That is just a tiny sample. Introducing him to the idea of "letting go and moving on":D

Honestly sockdrawer - I despair of fathers like KH. Utterly selfish. Hope your DS1 is able to deal with it and tell him what he thinks. Huge compliment to your DH. There are a lot of fab men around like him too thankfully.

Serena - that was a very helpful post, thank you:T
Everything crossed for you shysarah at the med exam today. Hope you come away feeling heard and understood.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

:( I got turned down for my business loan and am feeling carp. DH says he is going to take me out somewhere different so I can have the day away from all the paperwork.

On the positive side I have already been in touch with two more banks. Flying so far has consisted of tidying away all my papers to do with previous application. As Toots says 'head down....'

    TD on and DW emptied.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thank you for being so supportive. Yes, it's a huge complement to hubby that the children feel that way about him. He totally deserves it too.
Just had a phonecall from my caseworker at the CSA to "bring me up to date" all good so far (it wasn't her I spoke with yesterday, so I was obviously on her list to phone) just what I was told about the DOE order, how much to be paid, and how much arrears. Then she made a strange comment about there being one more action she is going to take, then went a bit quiet about it. Said she would be "looking into his financial situation" but couldn't speak to me about it just yet, and would tell me more once the team had finished doing that. Very Very odd.
