Hiya
I've just came across your thread, sorry things are so tough at the moment and hope you's are able to talk and sort things out.
Afraid I cant help with the driving, I gave up 4 years ago after failing my 4th test with my instructor telling me he has no idea what more he can teach me!0 -
Long overdue update, been meaning to post and update but been either working, busy or kids have been here and never get a private chance to post!
I am still skint but should be getting £1500ish in my wages on Friday and with the amount of overtime/bonuses from this month next payday should be around £1600!
I only have to give Simon £314 from my wages again this month to cover his half of the holiday so other bills will be.....
£12.34 for Cat Insurance
£32.65 for Gym
£45.74 for O2
£5 Charity
£100 Savings
Which leaves me £1000 ish to play with!
Driving lessons aplenty though for next month as test is sometime in June *at moment* unless she makes me move it again......
So need about £300 put aside for that and need to buy all my holiday clothes this month so next payday any spare cash can go on holiday monies.
Credit card is only £30ish pound to pay off though the 0% one has crept up again a bit, want to put monies into savings though rather than pay that off as might as well earn some interest before I have to take it all out to spend on paying it off in September when 0% runs out!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Didnt want that last post going on forever but update on me and Simon is I did write him a letter in the end but then we didn't actually talk about the letter for over a week..
Things are calmer now, he has agreed we can move house as I don't like living in there house but thats not likely to happen for a year or so anyway but more incentive to save up.....
TBH neither of us seems to know what we want out of life anymore, he says he wants me and for us to have a live together and I told him I feel like we just live "his" life, tbh as he has kids already thats not likely to ever change I suppose.
Ex wifes dad is on the mend though but Simon will be having the kids most of the summer holidays now after his ex found a room full of certain plants at her parents house where the kids normally stay in the holidays..
So there goes any time off for us for rest of year after our holiday!
I soooooo need to get over my driving hate/fear as I am gonna need the car to escape this summer! Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Mmmmmm my money seems to have disappeared already!
Paid £50 off my credit cards, £68 on Spencers booster jab, £70 on weekend sheninigans, £100 on clothes and currently have £780 left in the bank but need £190 still for bills and £260ish for driving lessons.
Driving lessons depends on how many more she can squeeze in for me though it might only be £180, I really need to get out in my own car as much as possible for next 4 weeks too but we have kids until Monday from tomorrow so no driving for me this week until lesson apart from maybe driving to work tomorrow.
As it stands my daily budget is £12.22 per day, am tempted to put an extra £150 in my savings though which would only be £7 per day budget......would mean savings back up to £1250 though.....Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Time for an update!
So payday is 2 weeks away, have £155 to last me until then after keeping £154 aside for driving lessons (and test use of car!).
Fingers crossed I will pass and will then have £200ish extra each month to throw into my savings for when the 0% card runs out!
Not much else to report lifewise, all I do is work and drive lol.
Feeling happier than I was and mine and Simon will be in Tenerife in less than 3 weeks so even if I fail my test I have that to look forward too, but positive thinking and all that I will pass......Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Bad MSE'r reporting for duty.
Well I say bad, I am a good lurker but life seems to get in the way of me posting these days!
Am hoping life should start getting a bit calmer again though soon so might have more time to post.
Main update for anyone who reads this but isn't on my facebook is that I passed my driving test on 27th June!!! 4th time lucky!
Thats a great thing as I have a lot more freedom now, no more relying on lifts and public transport!
Me and Simon spent last week in Tenerife too which was lovely.
Works not great, I am planning on updating CV shortly and having a browse around though soon as I am stressed and shattered from it all the time and the works not getting done and as many times as I tell my boss he doesn't really care though he wants to leave too!
Now I can drive I am thinking I should start my masterplan I have had for about 4/5 years now......;)
Moneywise I am ok this month as done a lot of overtime and got some birthday money too but my car needs looking at as the heating is constantly on if the fan is on, no cold air and I need to tax it again this month,, joys of driving!
I was pleased that I only had to pay £56 more to change my insurance when I passed my test though. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Well done on the driving test that is fab news and i bet makes thingsa lot better with being able to get out and about etc.0

Took the hit and taxed my car today, did it for a year as then it all wont hit at once.
Have got to somehow find £1400 within next two months to clear my credit card as the 0% on the balance transfer runs out then.....
Have that nearly in savings but dont want to wipe my savings back out.Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Trying to post more often.....
Well work just gets better and better, I am being sent to another dealership from tomorrow for more training as the last couple months have been rubbish at mine and today I had to tell the big boss we had lost nearly £5k due to me not being able to do my job properly due to staffing/i.t issues.
But it means driving on the motorway each day for up to two months and as I have only been driving for 2 and a bit weeks going to another town is scaring me.
.
Luckily Simon works nearby the other dealer so I am going to drive tomorrow with him with me and if I find it too scary he will drive me in Thursday after taking kids to school, I have been told I can start work a bit later if needs be.
The kids are on holiday with their Mum next week so we can drive in together then but the week after that I will be on my own........:o so need to get used to it.
Work will be paying for my fuel though whilst I am there. Does mean my plan of going to the gym aint gonna happen though, not driving into Bedford each night after that! Will have to go to Bedford on Friday afternoons to do filing for my job anyway!
I am also looking into doing evening courses now I can drive to try get into working with animals, thing is to do the course I want to do I will have to resit my Maths GCSE as I only got an E so might mean a years wait until I can start that, have emailed the other college to ask though.
Lifes really getting me down again at the moment so need to work towards making it better. Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
Not long after I passed my test I took a job where I was covering the whole east of Scotland - from Aberdeen to Berwick Upon Tweed (which is technically in Englandshire but my company counts as Scotland)lilmissmup wrote: »But it means driving on the motorway each day for up to two months and as I have only been driving for 2 and a bit weeks going to another town is scaring me.

I was sh!tting myself the first time I drove on the motorway on my own and was sh!tting myself the first time I drove to a new town on my own. You can do it and you will be braver than you think you can be.
Make sure you have music in the car, so that when the first time you drive past a massive lorry on the motorway you can sing through the terror. Works for me
