Thank you.. Soolin....great help as always.

So in first case, I have already listed the item with postage £6. so should I sell the item out of ebay??? or should I change payment method?
Item will be ending in another half an hour.

    Sorry to be thick.

Nothing wrong with your question at all.

You must take paypal if offered by the buyer on ebay and as you are unlikely to be able to end the aucition this close to finishing. Let auction run if buyer asks to collect then tell them it must be cash, if they want to use paypal then insist on posting out as per the auction terms. It only worlks for you as I am assuming you didn't offer collection on your actual listing, so buyer cannot insist on it.

You can't refuse to accept Paypal but if the buyer wants to use Paypal then say that you will post as per the listing.
I've sold quite a few collection items & luckily have never had a buyer ask to pay by paypal. I give my mobile number out to arrange for collection again never had a problem.

Thanks for your replies friends. I had not mentioned collection as an option. Also there were 4 exactly similar baby boxes which were for £1 each and postage was £6 each.and now the person who messaged me has won all the 4 items bids.

Actually according to his point of view, he will only pay £4 if he collects the item and if I post it he will have to pay £28.

I have not yet replied to his message as not sure how to deal with it.

    1) Now if I say collection not allowed then can he withdraw in this case?

    2) If I accept his collection offer and the listing has ended how it will work exactly? (especially if if I want to go for cash as payment method)

    Thanks for any help.

You sold & he won all 4 boxes at £1 each? If you're happy for him to collect then say you will accept cash on collection. When he pays you the £4 & takes the boxes away you mark the items paid on your ebay sold page.

I would let him collect if it were me, no paypal fees to pay, if you hadn't already agreed to them collecting, say that it is ok with cash on collection. Most buyers would expect you to want cash. It will save you having to pack & get 4 large boxes to the post office.
If the buyer says he will only use Paypal, tell him that you will have to post.
Is there any reason why you would say no to collection?

Thank you so much hermum xxx

I think I will go for collection, as you suggest, it will be less hassles of packing.

I know that some people don't like items being collected but it doesn't bother me, I always say that it will need to be a mutually convenient time. I'd much rather save the Paypal fees.

With apologies I misread this and thought we were talkiing about more expensive items. For £4 worth of goods I'd let the buyer collect even if they did pay paypal just to save all the wrapping and hassle of getting the things to a post office.
