Need help as a newbie seller please.....

Options
Hi,

I have very recently started selling on ebay and only managed to sell 3-4 items so far.

Yesterday 1 more item is sold on ebay and the buyer has 0% feedback.

I just want to know what care should I take while sending the item, as the buyer has no feedback at all...???

Paypal email says that the address is 'unverified' but when I checked the transaction details, there it says address 'verified'....so was confused.

icon_oktoship_29x32.gifOK to post the item....

this sign is there in transaction details.

So is it ok to post the items in this case please...???? Or is there anything else I need to look before proceeding....???

Thanks in advance for any advice....:)

As you have the 'OK to post' message, then don't worry.

If the item is under £41 in value, you will be covered by loss with Royal Mail. However this will not cover a Paypal/Ebay dispute.

Over £41 but under £150 will need online proof of delivery for a PP/Ebay dispute.

Over £150 will need online proof of delivery including signature for a PP/Ebay dispute.

Keep any certificate of posting for 6 months.

For £7, I would send it normal, first or second class. I would keep my CoP for 6 months in the event of a paypal chargeback.

If the buyer never receives the item, then you are covered by Royal Mail. You will have to refund their Paypal payment within a reasonable time, but then you can claim back from Royal Mail.

    Good luck.

Thanks so much for the help chancesare....
  • I agree with Chances, a low value item isn't going to leave a hole in your pocket if the buyer turns out to be a thief so it's worth the risk just to get some positive feedback going in your Ebay profile.

In your Ebay Seller console you can set it up to only allow buyers who have x-amount of positive feedback; you can put a message in your auction to tell buyers with little or no feedback or a bad history to contact you if they want to bid and you can then add their name to the "exceptions" list.

    Hi,

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought to ask in the same thread....

Today I sold 1 item on ebay which had 5 bids. Then in seller reminder I got the message as "1 item I sold is eligible for a Second Chance Offer."

What does that mean please...??? and what exactly I should do in this case please...?? Gone through Ebay Help pages but could not get it properly.:o

I know its a very basic question but very recently started learning selling on Ebay so don't have any idea.

    TIA

It means that if you have more than one of that item, you can offer it to the other people who bid on the one you listed.

You cannot block any bidders now due to feedback unless you opt for the 'with no credit card on file' . Asking people to contact you doesn't help either as if they don't and they just snipe, they are stil a valid winner.

Anything that has more than one bidder will give the option of a second chance offer, that's just in case you have two identical ones. If you don't, then just ignore it.

  • Don't need to do anything idlesaver.
If your buyer drops out ,for whatever reason, you can offer the next bidder in-line the item
    2017 WINS
    £500 ASDA Gift Cards
    2016 Wins
Samsung S6, £50 Argos vouchers. £50 Mastercard, £50 John Lewis voucher and Pandora charm

    Thanks for the replies.

The highest bidder has not yet paid for the item. (It ended today morning) How long should I wait in this case..??? and if NOT paid what to do next...???

And I don't have any other identical items.
