how can i advertise my house better for quicksale

hi guys

hoping someone can help

we've recently lowered the asking price of our house by £5k for a quick sale. we've had 2 viewings booked in since last week but we've found our ideal home and dont want to let it slip through our fingers (we've been looking for ages and not many old style houses around in our price range that we like)

we're on the market with an estate agent but im desperate to sell so we can secure the house we want to buy.

Where can i advertise extra to attract more interest? we're obviously already in local paper......i've put a link on my facebook page but not sure where else people look other than rightmove.

thanks

    Quick sale = low price.

You'll have to price at a level that's REALLY attractive in this market
  • i have already lowered it by as much as we can as we are adding to our current mortgage.......we cant afford to decrease the price by any more so looking for alternatives such as advertising or revamping it..... hubby doesnt see point in making any changes to decor though to be more appealing =/

I doubt a £5k reduction will make a difference to the speed of sale. I think you either need to lower the price dramatically, or accept that you might miss out on the other house if you can't afford to do this.

we have tweaked the house a bit since this, adding a few decorative items and we do have our own pictures back on the walls now so its not as plain as it looks on here. we just de-personalised it for internet pictures

catalonia........ your comment isnt really helpful, sorry. i asked for advice on how to advertise it - dont really need people advising me to dramatically drop price or risk losing our house to buy - i had already stated we've reduced the price as much as possible so were looking for alternative ideas on how to appeal to prospective buyers.

    thanks

Just because you disagree with a comment, does not make it unhelpful.

You can't magic buyers from thin air, and if it's on Rightmove 99% of potential buyers will have seen it. You especially can't magic buyers willing to pay too much just because you need it.

How can you advertise it? That's the job of your estate agent.
    Been away for a while.
  • Could you put an advert up in local shops (Ive seen a few here that have done that, for those who do not use the internet and may not be seriously looking until the find the right house, or they may pass it on to someone who is looking??). I'm a little further south Lincs than you and I love Lincoln (I know that's not relevant lol)

Has the agent got it in the window etc?

Erm.... the house is already underpriced, dont know why you think we've bumped the value up for our own comfort..... honestly!!!!
