Best not to try getting involved in any kind of contact with Royds TSB - it'll only lead to frustration. Few companies are less appropriate or equipped to be dealing with people's money.

    Bloody muppets Lloyds collections are.
I asked for help they just refused so I stopped paying, now with Fredricksons who are accepting an affordable amount. Sure they are rude and nasty pieces of work but speak english and understand english swear words.
Strange really as when I was reclaiming ppi they were nice beyond belief although they were in Wales and was the complaints dept.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated by the Indian Call Centre, after you spell everything out (literally ;)) it's like they're just reading a random statement to you, it's hardly ever relevant to what you've just said to them!!!

I always try to be polite to the staff and clearly explain my circumstances about what has been going on. I don’t think they are helped by what seems like a real lack of process.

Lloyds must have so many different sub departments its unreal. Nothing seems joined up between bank accounts, credit cards and loans. I just hope that within the next six months I can end all ties with them.

The phone staff are frustrating though as just start reading a script when pressed on something.

I had similar experiences with Lloyds TSB a few years ago, including their several times setting a DD to cover my agreed payments, taking a couple of instalments, then chasing me for arrears because THEY had terminated the DD (for no good reason - I had sufficient funds, etc). When I was finally close to clearing the balance, according to their statements, I went into my branch to close the account, where they calculated that I had already overpaid significantly (as I suspected), and that the statements were incorrect. The branch staff, while very helpful, didn't seem at all surprised at this!

We've had this experience with Lloyds. They are useless. OH had a loan with them & 2 accounts, which he closed some 6 years ago. We kept receiving letters for these supposedly closed accounts, including the charge of £5 each month as one was a Gold account. We eventually wrote to the Ombudsman to try to sort it out & even after they wrote to them, it still took us 3 letters stating the same thing. Accounts closed, no further monies owing. Eventually they did agree to close them.

The loan we had difficulty paying when we moved house because our postcode was changed about 2 months after moving & they would then no longer accept payment as our postcodes didn't match. We tried ringing, writing & even calling into a branch. However, the chap wandered off to check & 25 minutes later he still hadn't come back. We had a 14 month old with us who was now becoming very bored, so we called someone over & asked where Blokey had gone as we needed to go soon (14 month old + hunger = uncomfortable for all in the vicinity). She wombled off to check & came back to say he'd be with us in a few minutes. 20 minutes later he still hadn't appeared, so we caught the same lady & told her thanks for her help but we'd put in a complaint about Blokey.

Anyway, they wouldn't let me pay with my card on the loan because I wasn't "the loan holder". They wouldn't accept Steve's cards as the postcodes didn't match & every letter was met with "We have updated your details" & yet the situation remained the same.

One person even told us over the phone that he could see 31 different attempts by us to change our postcode, both phone & letter & promised us it would be done. Was it? No.

We've asked them 6 times to have our original signed loan contract sent to us so we can see if we asked for PPI. So far, it has not turned up.

    Absolutely useless.

    Hi
we owed one of our biggest debts to lloyds, who were really dreadful. Always saying they hadnt had any letters from us, hadn't agreed anything with us and had NOT spoken to us ever!

We decided not to speak to them at all and did it all by letter, all sent recorded delivery. It was fine after that, although to be fair to lloyds, once it went to the collections team, bls, they were much easier to deal with. After a couple of attempts to get us to pay more it settled down and we hardly ever heard from them.

One thing tho--I did not pay them anymore than they had asked for and we had agreed. Once the interest had stopped there did not seem to be much point in paying them any more and making our lives even harder. We put any extra money into an emergeny fund for things like car repairs.

good luck with it all, it does get easier.

Ah, my favourites - Lloyds TSB :rotfl:

I've had numerous problems with them and all of your posts ring true to me.

Only ever communicate with them in writing, it is the only way to get anywhere. Glad to hear that you have got a complaint off to them, as soon as those start rolling in, they magically start sorting stuff out for you...

I have to agree with the BLS comments, if you can get it passed onto them, your interest will be frozen completely and they are slightly easier to deal with.

I had a business overdraft, a personal loan and a credit card with them. The business loan (which went to Wescot) and personal loan (BLS Collections) have both recently been settled with good F&F's. The CC has been much harder work from the start though, but now it is with BLS I'm hoping for another good F&F in the near future!

    Good luck :)
