Well this time when my phone rang it was actually an Agency.

They phoned 5 minutes after I'd sent my CV through this afternoon and are putting me forward for the job I applied for. The job is more money than I was on before and closer to home.

Please let me get an interview, I really want this one...

Will keep everything crossed for you, my phone rang this afternoon as well, lots of flapping about went on for pen and paper :D it was HomeServe trying to flog cover should my electrics go bang :o :rotfl:

    Hi everyone,

I had two rejections today (applied before Christmas, so I had already assumed I hadn't got it and don't feel too bad about these ones). Feedback for both was that I wasn't quite an exact match, which confirms that maybe transferable skills / experiences aren't so valuable to employers these days. The jobs were in the same sector, but different role...Oh well...you don't try, you don't get.

No new jobs posted today. Eeek. I'm biting my nails here...I have one interview lined up, I'm not waiting to hear back from any other application, and I have two applications still to fill in and send off. Unless new jobs are posted soon, that's it! When it's numbers game, it's looking a little paultry!!

On the plus side, my uncle has a friend in China who works in my industry and he's going to send him CV to take a look at / forward on behalf. I'm not too expectant that anything will come out of it, but it's the little flame of hope that maybe it will result in a job that I need.

I'm still in two minds about whether to emigrate if I get an offer. I don't want to leave my friends/family, but on the other hand I may hve to go where the jobs are if I want to stay in this field...But I suppose I'll worry if it ever comes to that

Hope everyone is keeping their spirits up :)

Wow angel, they certainly made you work for that interview didn't they. I don't know how I would have managed in those circumstances. Well done for getting through it. I hope you get some good news next week.

Talking of interviews.....is it simply the norm these days to interviewed by at least 3 people no matter what the job is? . It sometimes feels more like being on trial than anything else:eek:.
I was interviewed by 4 people for my customer service assistant job (dinner lady- but thats my posh title!;))
Good luck everyone at least there seems to be lots of [STRIKE]interrogation[/STRIKE] interviews taking place:T:D.

Forgot to say when I was leaving work today my supervisor put an envelope in my hand and said this might help on Sunday. She has written me a lovely reference for the cleaning job I am going for and I was quite touched! Its nice to work for someone who looks after her staff...just wish she had a full time job for me !

The only time I've had one person interview me was an inital interview. The second interview had a panel. Almost all of my other interviews have had three as well - the main boss, immediate line manager or someone from the team, and someone from HR. It is a little intimidating! But I think I'm getting use to it now, although I have to remind myself all the time to make eye contact with all of them when I'm answering the question which is a bit hard to do when there are so many!

I've never been interviewed by more than one person at a time. But I experienced the other way round at Molly Maid, one person interviewed two candidates at the same time  that really threw me.

Love the Customer Service Assistant title btw. Officer in Charge of Personnel Movement = Bus Driver,

Well just finished my 2 days work. It's so good to get out the house! And the person I was working with knew someone applying for the same production as me who hasn't heard from interview either (that I had last Thursday), so there's still a bit of hope there. It's also gave me something to put on my cv from 2011 :D - will probably disappear from it if I get a a longer lasting job soon though!
