Agencies are a waste of time it best to just apply directly to the employer.
Not true. I agree that some of them (usually the more well known ones) are bad. But I've had a few temp jobs through agencies in the last couple months and my last long term job (3 years) was found through an agency. They are a means to an end. Especially round here where every company seems to use agencies to recruit.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Agencies are a waste of time it best to just apply directly to the employer.
But some companies outsource their recruitment solely to agencies, making dealing with them a necessary evil.
An agency found me the job I start tomorrow, incidentally. I didn't know the company was hiring because it didn't advertise.0 -
thsnx for share good job. i want new work.
come againAgencies are a waste of time it best to just apply directly to the employer.
some employers only recruit via agencys so ging straight to employer doesnt workWhat jobsites are using because I have found Total Jobs to be very good and have manage to secure jobs and interviews through them.
I am also looking for a new job and aim to send at least five applications a day.
ive found total jobs to be a total waste of time but thats based on the jobs they have which for my area are jobs that want qualified people,0 -
Back from my interview. Don't know how it went really, I think I did okay with the questions and they didn't have to ask me to elaborate too much on any of my answers. One of those ones where you think it could go either way really, depends on the strength of the other candidates.
Should hear by the end of the week.0 -
Read in the local paper that tesco will be extending a store so woohoo but unfortunately i cant see it happening soon as they need planning permission to extend well im hoping they advetise for some jobs to help with the extension eg moving stock,0

Drea CV library is a job searching site, it's actually quite good, I find a few things to apply for on there. Lot's of the other sites link through to jobs on there so that's probably how you ended up registering!0

I had a bad experience with agencies but I am aware that not all agencies are a waste of time.
I am qualified graduate and was offered three interviews last week from jobs that were advetised on Total Jobs. I found my previous job on the Total jobs website. I email my CV yesterday for a job on Total jobs and the company had contact me this morning for interview and assessment.
I was just offering advice on what seems to be working for me at the moment.0 -
I actually found a job to apply for today, hurrah. They have been very few and far between! It's for Yorkshire Bank, working as a customer service officer in a branch in town and says full and part time applications will be considered. It was a very in-depth online application, I'm surprised they didn't ask my bra size. The pay seems odd...£12.50 an hour....is that normal for working customer facing in a bank branch?!:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

Hello all,
I'm in the middle of an application form and have just got to the bit we all leave until last - the horrible bit where you have to demonstrate that you have their essential and desirable competencies. My head's a bit mashed with it so I'm having a break for an hour and am off out to buy some bedding plants.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
I found Total Jobs a waste of time too! There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0 -

Total jobs is not a waste of time for everyone it depends on what part of the country you are in and your work experience.
I am in London and I am getting interviews from Total jobs so I am not wasting my time. It was just a suggestion everyone is free to chose their own jobsites.
Good luck with your application.0
