I had a very weird dream last night, I had a job but was continuously taking time off to attend interviews, and was worried that I would loose the job I had.

    Strange the subconscious :)

Well, i've just had a call from the agency telling me that the company liked my CV and have invited me to an interview next Wednesday morning. So i'm going to spend the weekend researching the company. Here's hoping something comes out of this one.
  • Got feedback from recruiter, not getting interview for a job because I don't come from the exact same field of experience. Gah! I hate that one!
Still, good email from rec. and opportunity to chat to him some more :)

Probably done for applications until Monday now.

I think there is a lot of that out there, i've applied for loads of jobs outside of my previous work experiences but the only interviews I get are for jobs similar to what I did before. I guess with so many people out there applying for the same jobs if you haven't got the right experience and others have then you're not going to get the interview.

Hope something comes your way soon.

Good luck with your interview Stew.

I've completed one application this morning, and started another but when I got to the personal statement I lost the will to carry on. My brain just can't do it. Hopefully I'll be more motivated tomorrow and get it done :o

Still not heard anything from my interview on Wednesday, even though they said they'll let me know by the end of the week...no news is bad news, I think :(

Good luck with the interview stew :)

I got another call for an interview next week too. So that's two on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, thank god because I had a bit of a nasty shock when I seen my last pay come in from my last employer... ouch.

I've been out at an agency and the job centre all day so going to apply for a few jobs now :)

Right back at you Drea, three interviews in two days?

I wish I could get them coming in like that.

Best of luck preparing for them and with the interviews as well.

    Morning everyone.

Hope you have all had lovely, job-hunting free weekends.

I've got a huge list of things to get through today. Just registering with a few agencies this morning, then I want to start some prep for my interview on Thursday. Can anyone offer any advice on preparing for interviews. I am only 21, and left uni last year so haven't got a huge amount of experience. I've already printed off information about the company, but what else does everyone do to prepare??

Hope this is is a successful week for us.
  • Hi,

lexi we are similar ages... I am looking for my first ever job :S Finding it near impossible. good luck with the preparation,

Does anyone know if the Jobcentre helps people not claiming benefits?
I have been applying for apprenticeships but it has been fruitless so far, as most of them seem to want 16 year olds, not 20-somethings. I'm going to do a few more applications this morning though, and send some spec letters to a couple of companies.

I have no idea how true this is, and if it is true how recent it was but I remember speaking to a friend who was not claiming JSA but went into the job centre asking for help and they would not advise her at all. To be completely honest, I have been on JSA since October, and they have been useless, not printed off a single job for me and all their vacancies are online so you are not really missing out.
