Got up early, came online ready to apply for jobs all day... to find only one new job on the job centre website! Which I can't do as the person would need to drive.

Will go through the big company websites now but was hoping for more.

Yeah thats what gets to me, or you log on and just same jobs posted day before or even week before..... utter crap.

I have recently passed my theory test carrie its not too bad. Have you got one of the CD Rom games? I found it really useful because it really prepares you for what its like in the actual test. I also set it to difficult and found the actual test quite easy after that!

    Congrats on passing!

Yep, i've got one of those. I'm trying to get through the books and learn with the computer too.
I did take a theory test in Jan 2008 and passed but it ran out Jan this year, so annoyed i didn't get onto the practical before then.
I do feel like i'm learning most of it from scratch though as i didn't learn to drive in the 2 years since the theory so forgot most of it.

It's amazing me quite how much filling my time with driving lessons now i'm out of work is keeping me positive :)

Good luck today Katkim, I too suffer from sleepless nights with the stress and worry of it all, I'm also finding it more and more difficult to get up in the mornings. Nothing worth getting up for kind of attitude.

OMG someone i can relate to - its the boredom that gets to me everyday becomes the same, i drop my daughter off at school & then the humdrum begins lol - 2 new jobs in my area on jobsearch today "nightshift" so fell at first hurdle lol.

Well after biting the bullet and deciding it was time to register with some agencies I called one up today to ask if she had a chance to look over the CV I emailed yesterday. It went like this:

Agency: Yeah well I had a look at your CV and to be honest I'd struggle to place you because you have a 2 year gap on your CV.
Me: Yes it's been 2 years since I was in an admin post but in that 2 years I've finished a degree, gotten a post grad and volunteered at Citizens Advice, does that not count for anything?
Agency: Well, no. We have clients looking for recent skills and you don't have those. Bye.

    :(

Seriously beginning to wonder why I bothered going to university at all

Sorry but i did actually lol their - the boredom of unemployment i think is driving me insane....

well just got another rejection email which pretty much sums this week up for me.

Thank you very much for your application for our vacancy. We have been overwhelmed by the huge number of applicants and unfortunately, on this occasion you have not been successful.

    :(

Yip had some of the same crap....

That's terrible!!! May be a reason why I'm not having much luck with agencies, it's been 4 years since I did admin work as I've been working on my career with working with children.

Just found out a family member of mine recieved a job offer today. He had the interview last December. Having to wait that long for a response would have killed me. I am pleased for him but I can't help feeling down because of my situation.

I know theres a light at the end of the tunnel for all of us. Lets hope we can see it soon.

Did I hear about the interview?

    Nope.

I'm sorry Drea, but not surprised unfortunately, hopefully tomorrow me be the day for you!

I'm just doing one last look through todays jobs before I shut down for the night. I've never seen so many jobs put on the job centre in one day. None really relevent but a couple I'm going to try my luck at anyway.

There's a job working in the sewers, and the salary meets NMW  I couldn't believe what I was reading. Who would want to do that job for £5.93 or whatever it is.

I had to laugh when I saw an advert for a job in a chippy, those without previous experience need not apply. How hard can it be?

These ads get more and more ridiculous every day.

Budget day tomorrow, hope there's something in it to help us who want to work!

I find it very disheartening when employers do that. Its not fair on us because we deserve an answer when we have interviews with these companies. I would rather hear I was unsuccessful than silence, no matter how bad I wanted the job. At least there is some sense of closure.
