Forums for midlife people?

I know this probably isn`t the place to post this but I really don`t want to put it in Discussion Time or the Arms as it`d get ripped to shreds.
To keep it MS, there are plenty forums online for young families, and OAPs, but I can`t seem to find any specifically for middle agers that aren`t about particular medical issues, and I was looking for one that is userfriendly but caters for us midlifers and includes talk about moneysaving things.
So I was hoping someone here might know where any are? Or even if there are any?
(hoping too it`s ok to ask about this on this forum )

A forum for people with grown up and left home kids and aging parents = loads of time and cash demands!!Sue
Do I need to eat it
Can I afford the calories:eek:
have I checked for a lower calorie version:T0 -
Not all grown ups have the kids or the aging parents though
To be honest, I just wondered if there was anywhere that I could chat to like minded folks who have things in common (hence mentioning about the age range) that was fairly gentle and took in strays like me."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0 -
I guess that would be me then :j
43, no kids just hubby and pets.
I do find quite a lot of postings on here don't really relate to me when they are from people with families living at home. That said I still enjoy reading most of themThere is no issue so small that it can't be blown out of proportion0 -
I think it might be a bit cosy and dull (not that cosy and dull are necessarily things to dislike). I like the wide range of age and experience on MSE. It means that I can learn from some and teach others. I'm 53 BTW.0

Cosy and dull might suit me fine at the moment.
Sometimes, (being brutally honest here) you just want a `refuge` to hide away in where you can chat to others about boring stuff like nostalgia, the good old days, etc, and how much life has changed.
Yup, I know..sounds awful! But I am surprised there aren`t forums out there that cater for midlifers, there seems to be one for everyone/thing else! I tried a Google search and just got results for middle aged folks wanting to date!"Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0 -

Hah...I'm 53, parents all dead but I've still got kids at home, the younger one being 9 but because we're frugal with no mortgage, not too many cash demands at present. We don't all fit into neat pigeon holes!
I think sometimes it's best to join a forum with a commom interest rather than just age. There's too wide a range of hobbies, interests and life commitments if you just home in on age! For example my favourite forums where I'm a member include camping, knitting, cycling, fiction writing, gardening and Playmobil collecting as well as this one.Val.0 -
I know what you mean Val:)
I think the only things that fit in pigeon holes are pigeons:)
it was a bit rash to generalise but the description is me, 2 kids youngest 30 and 2 parents in their 80's, no cash and sometimes it feels like very little time:rotfl:Sue

One kid left home, one at home waiting to move out & one finishing Uni. A total of three elderly parents between us, one of rather unsound mind.
Very little time (we both work full time) but loads of cash demands
I'd love to save for my eventual retirement (currently at age 67, but probably even later than that!) but we've still got a student to support, regular but costly flights/car hire to visit one mum, a mortgage to over-pay because the endowment will fail to deliver, a pay freeze etc etc etc My pigeon hole will be a very funny shape :rotfl:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
