It is perfectly possible to legally watch TV programes without the need for a licence.
"forced to buy a TV licence" - how absurd:D
No it's not you need a licence to receive any TV signal. Even if you don't have one connected to an arial. If it is tuned in to a channel and receives a fuzzy signal you need a licence.
The only way you can't is if it is DVD's or recorded content. But if someone records for you and you don't have a licence they can be done for copyright and you would have to prove you did not record it. (so basically get someone done for copyright)
You also need a Licence to watch some online content.0 -

It's not without breaching copyright, that is a law.
So explain the Legality of Watching broadcast programs without a licence.
WRONG!
Explain the legality?
You do not need necessarily need a licence to watch television programmes.
It has been posted many many times on threads on here before how you can do this.
Nothing illegal at all.0 -

OK I have not seen it, but could you explain this?
http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/about/foi-legal-framework-AB16/A TV Licence is a legal permission to install or use television receiving equipment (e.g. TVs, computers, mobile phones, games consoles, digital boxes and DVD/VHS recorders) to watch or record television programmes, as they are being shown on TV. This applies regardless of which television channels a person receives or how those channels are received. The licence fee is not a payment for BBC services (or any other television service), although licence fee revenue is used to fund the BBC.
The requirement to hold a TV Licence and to pay a fee for it is mandated by law under the Communications Act 2003 and Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 (as amended). It is an offence to watch or record television programmes as they are being shown on any channel and on any broadcast platform (terrestrial, satellite, cable and the internet) without a valid TV Licence.
Legislation on television licensing is available from the Office of Public Sector Information website. TV Licensing - Legislation and policy on our website outlines the most relevant legislative provisions.0 -
What would you like me to explain?
Seems perfectly clear.0
