Sending you all my best wishes, losing a pet is horrible and even worse if you have to sit there and watch him die.
Just console yourself by remembering the good times and what a nice life you have given him. That is how I got through it when my hammy went.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
How is he still going???- is this a hamster coma??
Just wet his lips with a teat pipette- not a flinch!

awwwwww so sad
brought back memories of my little hamster henrietta when i was a teenager and i fed her and forgot to shut the cage door on the roof after, as i was in a rush to go off roller skating for the night and i came home to an empty cage looked everywhere and found her stuffed with the edging of my valance sheet of my single bed in her cheeks
she was fine for a good few days but i was riddled with guilt still am
rip henrietta! "You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need"

Lost one of my hamsters once cos my frind left the cage door open- a week late the neighbours moved out- the landlord told my dad they saw a sooty rat washing itself in the fireplace!
My hamster lost them a tenant!
Minky escaped a few months ago and moved in under the sink unbeknown to us- had to trap him with stinky food and a ramp into his carry case- took 3 days!
He sussed places out while in his rollaball!
Update- Ive moved him and his bedding on to a few pieces of kitchen towel ready to wrap him up- can't tell what is heartbeat or breath now but theres still something there!:A 17/10/07-Started Rosemary Conley :ATotal loss so far= 4 stone 7lbs!In the magazine Sept 08:T0 -
When my hamster went a few years ago, I came home from school to find her under her wheel....silly thing. Took her ages to pass just like yours. Its horrible watching them go but all you can do is make them comfortable at a time like this...
All the best!In debt no more!0 -
We took our hamster to the vet to be put down when she was dying They were very sympathetic. Give the poor thing a comfortable, dignified end, even if it is just a hamster.0

Kathyd I suggest you read the rest of this thread- I would have taken him to the vets but they wont come out or open whatever the price on a Sunday
We took one a few years ago (mid week mind) and the vet stayed open a few mins later to see us- my son was beside himself and the vet waived the fee but that vets have closed- probably because acts of kindness and compassion like that
He is not JUST A HAMSTER to us -he is my sons pride and joy!
I really doubt he is feeling anything right now or anymore and i have no option but to wait
My little boy has just had some time with him on his own and kissed him and told him he loves him- he is as comfortable as possible:A 17/10/07-Started Rosemary Conley :ATotal loss so far= 4 stone 7lbs!In the magazine Sept 08:T0 -

I have read your thread and it would appear to suggest that the poor hamster has been ill all week. Why leave it 'til Sunday to do anything?Jo6673 wrote:...they aren't that sympathetic to hamsters...
I was only letting you know that my vet was sympathetic under the same circumstances.
I apologise for being concerned about your hamster!0 -
i have left my bonfire cos i want to know how he/she is
its never easy to lose a pet

Our thoughts are with you Jo6673...we have lost a few hamsters over the years, and its just as painful taking them to the vets as it is watching them in their own wee cage!
Take care, our thoughts are with you, and hugs to your wee boy.
