Seem to remember "Blaster" Bates painting an old van yellowey brown - it was nicknamed the flying sh!te. When he got wealthier he bought a Range Rover the same colour but it was called Safari yellow, he reckoned it was something to do with the price0

10 years ago no one would buy a white car (well nearly no-one, I did coz it was cheap), now they seem to be becoming the in thing (and I bet white is an optional extra now)."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0

Hey, at the right price... if brown cars are so undesirable then chances are they sell cheaper, which would make it all the more desirable to me... couldn't care less about colour!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Back in the 70s, a man who lived in our street had a Hillman Hunter. Even as a child I felt sorry for him. He obviously didn't care what colour of car he drove either - his wife didn't drive and he had 2 little boys and his car was the colour of Pepto Bismol. :eek:0 -

Yeah it used to be a really poor colour for a car. I reckon brown could be popular really soon. People love to be different in their choices.0 -
I once bought a brown Mk2 Astra for £100, however the VIN colour code claimed it was burgundy and a quick check on the inside of the door frame confirmed that this was once the case.
Should I have updated the logbook from red to brown even though the car had never been resprayed?0 -
Something a bit different isn't it?
I'm sick of resale grey.0
