    Hi All

I would like to re-join Lionbridge in the next few months when I go on to maternity leave - does anyone know if there is an issue rejoining when you have done it in the past?

I previously did all of the studying, passed the exam and did around 25hours work however had issues with being paid so gave up on it

Also how much is the referall fee?
  • I get the impression that Lionbridge will let you apply again after 12 months, but you would have to pass the exam again.

    (I have also PM'd you.)

I finished my previous stint with Lionbridge at the end of Dec 2011. I got an email about 10 days ago asking if I want to re-apply so I am guessing that they allow you to re-join after 12 months. You have to update your original application and then retake the exams again. I completed my Part 2 yesterday and will know if I got through next Wednesday.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TAKE TIME TO POST COMPETITIONS

I can also refer people but there is no fee involved, just allowed to refer a certain number of people.

My contract finishes in April for the Internet Assessor role, i emailed them to ask them about continuing the role or even applying for a different role and they just told me that they would keep my details on file.

It doesnt make sense as to why you cannot re apply sooner than 12 months, lets say after a month or a few months would be better? basically just creating a new 11 month contract,

Obviously there must be a reason for not having a permanent contract, most likely because we are overseas.

Hiya - It's good to know there are other assessors on here :)

I have just passed part one, and because I am Mrs Sad, of Saddoville, I burst into tears when I read the 'congratulations' mail to confirm I'd passed!
This is partly due to having a bit of PMT, never passing any exams in the past, and I have been sat at my computer for two whole days solid with just small breaks for the loo and meals... I have got serious repetitve strain in my neck and can hardly move it for pain :rotfl:

Anyhow, to be honest, even though I've passed, I still haven't fully grasped the meaning behind all of the terminology :o
I start part two tomorrow (I'll need a neck brace by Wed) and wondered did any of you feel the same, or were you uber confident about what it's all about without having to refer back to the general guidelines?

from Tara (sat on the very confused step)

  • Hi Tara, I referred to the guidelines for the whole of my contract! I was never really confident at all, and when I thought I was that was when I did badly! Good luck you sound like you are doing all the right things.
  • Hi, Tara - I'm in my ninth month and I still refer to the Guidelines, so don't worry.

Oh thanks Lizzie and Wendy; I feel a bit better now :p

I've just switched on the puter, and I've got today and tomorrow to complete the 144 practical tasks (gulp)

Do you think part two is easier or more difficult than part one, and do you have to get 100% correct?

Any hints / tips would be very gratefully received :)

    Thanks
    Tara
