I did my second day today, managed 3 hours though I was actually online a whole lot longer. Between reading and the phone ringing none stop that's all I clocked up.

I am a bit worried about fitting in the hours at the moment. Normally it would be fine as I am only volunteering but I have lot's of day long courses and xmas related things on so it's going to be a struggle until the new year.

I think we all tend to be busy at this time of year. Got loads of cards to write, deccies to put up plus two lively dogs to exercise. I had a bit of trouble with the site and our connection seems to be a bit dodgy sometimes so I only managed less than 2 hours. Had some things to resolve as well and I don't think you get paid for that do you?

  • Well done to everyone thats passed, I was in the same boat a while back. It really does get easier and you will pick up speed in no time. It does seem to be a lot of reasing but once you get the gist of the tasks they become more fun to get a mixture.

The resolving is useful to guage how you are doing but don't tak it to heart if a few pop up. It actually becomes helpful so you can get an idea what others are thinking and their thought process and even pick a few tips up!

    Good luck and enjoy!

I'm finding the resolving very helpful. I'm keeping notes so that I can refer back and this helps a lot. I still feel as if I'm floundering though and I don't really know if I'm doing well or if I'm so bad they're holding their heads in their hands and groaning.

Hello, I am new to Lionbridge and am having trouble logging on. I have 3 different log ins, is this right? I have one for the actual work portal, one for accessing my timesheets and personal details and one for the "hub". The two passwords for doing the rating and my details are working, but the one for the hub isnt. Any ideas?

Have any of the lionbridge newbies registered as self employed yet? I have just been looking on the HMRC website and I am not sure when I need to do it (really hoping it can wait til after xmas) or what I need to do :o

We shouldn't be discussing details of the working platforms on a public forum as we've signed NDA agreements. Most of the posts on here are very general and don't give any detailed information.

Info on registering as self employed can be found here. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/register.htm
If you ring the newly self employed helpline they will explain what you need to do and they're very helpful. You can register by phone. You need to have a look at this page for the contact details. http://search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kbroker/hmrc/contactus/search.ladv?sr=0&as=1&cs=ISO-8859-1&sc=hmrc&sf=&sm=0&nh=50&ha=34&tx0=49674&fl0=__dsid:&tx1=2042&raction=view
I registered a few years ago but I'll ring them to see if I need to register this work as a separate business.

    Thanks for your help.
  • Has anyone received their remittance advice for this month? I thought it was due the 12th but I've still heard nothing as yet?
