    I need some opinions.

I will get paid i think enough to pay my rent and have £150 left over for feb.

OH will earn money in feb, but at this stage no idea how much.

We will have our gas/electric/debts to repay (still waiting for dd forms/payment things for all these however) other things are phone bill, council tax (from this month...naughty i know, but not a penny to spare at the moment!! Anything i make this month is going towards getting that paid so hopeefully this is not an issue!! )

We are running down our food supplies and basically will not be buying anything except cheese and milk for the remainder of the month (cant afford anything else)

So. My question is. Do i keep the £150 for food and transport to work costs for me for feb? or put it towards my bills? I reckon we could aim for £85 food and my travel is £36 a month (or i could walk but it would take probably 45/60 mins. ) I should probably walk and save the money right?

Any advise would be lovely. We are in a horrible situation, but only have ourselves to blame - and are taking the steps to make it right!!

  • Could you not use OH's bike for travelling, or is he using it?

What about offering your creditors a token payment for this month and explain you've changed jobs and are a bit short until next month?

And have a hug, there are no judgements here {{{}}} xx

    !

I don't know if the transport you are talking about is public and whether it's feasible/easier to walk part way? So off the bus early or walk part way and get on the bus further down the route. Thus saving some money and some time too.

Obviously if it was car or not feasible just ignore me :rotfl:

i was thinking about biking, my intention has been to bike, but OH may need it to get to the yard if we cant do diesel.

we've sent an SOA to all our creditors this month, so are waiting for them to come back with their desicion. but will offer token payments too - not having a phone means everything needs to be by post and is v. time consuming!!

i think i will atleast take £50 to buy food. and get the dog a big 7kg bag of food (it's £6 and will last atleast 2 months!) we need food. and will speak to creditors about everything else.

    thanks guys!!!

Hi everybody....spent most of the day trying to keep Kerry quiet....she doesn't seem to realise that she has had an op and refuses to do anything in a decorous manner....took her out on the lead which she hates and she has refused to 'perform', means that I will have to go out at 3/4am again, still she is obviously feeling well so that's good.

Tried to send AussieLass a pm yesterday and again to-day....not known!! Think I must be spelling it wrongly....if anyone has an email address for her can you check she's ok please....have her phone number but don't want to make too much fuss IYKWIM.

    Hugs to all

Bramble - (((hugs))) I've been there as many of us here have. You need to eat - thats a priority, bills other than council tax can wait. They cant have what you havent got. Most companies are understanding as long as you maintain contact with them and as it is only likely to be a temporary situation you will soon be able to get back on track with your bills. x
    Do what you love :happyhear

Hello chums I had a lovely day out with my DDs in-laws.I drove up to Bexleyheath this morning and as their local Aldi's had closed last year I went into my one in Gillingham and bought them a big bag of veggies. She was so pleased as she loves fresh veg.The Aldi's toms are treally very good I arrived on her doorstep and said a bag of veg is better than a buch of flowers, and as they are pensioners like me she said 'Too right'
Bless him her OH treated us both to a pub meal tonight which he wouldn't take a penny for. They rarely go out very far, and it meant that as I had my car we could go and he could have a small beer. This afternoon Margaret and I had a good long walk down Bexleyheath High street and it was nice to see the shops .I found a book shop that was closing down and managed to buy my four youngest DGS an annual each for 20p each, quite a bargain I thought .Then we went into the Greenwich Hospice shop and they were selling 100 gms of double knit wool for £1.20 a ball so I got a few for my charity blankets, even Wilkco's wool is dearer than that now. Then halfway down the High Street there was a stall and I got a huge pinneapple for a quid.So I haven't really bought any stuff for myself from a supermarket ,but Margarets cabbage, carrots, toms, swede and onions came to under £2.00 and she was so pleased with it.So all I have taken out of my food purse for my food this month so far is £1.00 for my pineapple. NSD tomorrow or Saturday but Sunday I will have to buy some shopping ,but not a great deal, maybe only some bread hopefully I will have to check my freezer first.
Tomorrow afternoon I have a History class, and Saturday I am out all day in London on a field trip crossing umpteen bridges over the Thames for my Uni course.I am still in the middle of my London sewerage in the 1860s essay at the moment ,only another 1600 words to go !!!
Hope everyone has had as good a day as I have ,it was lovely just sitting and chatting to some different faces for a change.Tomorrow my DD will hopefully find out if she has been sucessful in her interview that she did the other day ,fingers crossed.
Right I am off to watch the second part of the Sinking of the Laconia on catch-up t.v. before it gets crossed off
    Night all
