Well I was just about to post and quickly read my emails first, to get a large shock, a next door but one neighbour here, who had become a friend, emailed me from the UK, to say she had been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, and was due to have the kidney removed in 3 weeks. Everything went out of my head, so will try to post later.
DG
That's so sad. I really hope having the kidney removed is the end of her trouble. Sending you and her lots of hugs.
More hugs too for Nic1lou2 as you sound like you've been in a bad place.

Good Evening All
I havent read the thread yet so will do that in a minute. Lovely easy tea (again) lasagne out of the freezer, made before Christmas. A busy day at work. My first ever assembly, seemed to go well, will get feedback tomorrow, on the way out one of the children called out "Thanks for assembly Miss" which was nice.
Weather been a bit miserable today, but no snow or ice so pleased about that. Off to read the posts, have a lovely evening whatever your plans.

Evening all!
Well, the house looks a lot more presentable, my wallpaper arrived, the boyshave been fed and the little one is off to Cubs, DS1 is playing his XBox and I am relaxing on here, catching up everyone's news.
I am a bit annoyed actually, I offered a couple of people some things I knew they needed, which I have no use for, and they haven't replied to my messages, I am a bit upset about that, I also never got a thanks from someone I sent some things to, to help them out with their wedding last year, and when they published their photos they never even used the things - which were brand new and unused too; if they didn't need them I hope they passed them onto someone who did.Oh I am a crabbit old goat tonight actually, I think the reality of going back to work next week has hit me :rotfl:
Marie I hop Kerry's OK, nic1lou2 I hope you are getting things sorted, hugs for the rest of you in need.
Hetty is still a bit stinky I think I'll buy one of those neutradol things tomorrow, what I told OH on the phone today, he said she must have let one of her boyfriends in and he's cocked a leg on it, otherwise how could she have done it herself :rotfl: He's got a point, its about the same height as she is  I think I need Poirot for this...................It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
Evening all,
Well, today has been quiet, but if I ever have a day like yesterday I'll probably combust...
The OH left for his course at 6am yesterday morning, and as I've heard nothing from him since 11am yesterday, I presume he's still there. We went to bed at 1am the night before and got up at 5.30am, so I started with very little sleep.
I went to the gym yesterday too, and the car started flashing a coolant warning notice... I checked it, sure enough it was very low, so topped it up, ran some errands and went home. I went out later in the evening for a meeting still with no problems. As I left the meeting and started the car, it flashed up the coolant warning again. I checked it again, and this time the expansion tank was empty. I topped it up, got half a mile and the car looked like it was going to overheat.
I called the AA at 20:40 last night, and was finally recovered by them at 23:00 . I was a lone woman on a dark, national speed limit road and I kept getting put off by their local agent . When the AA patrol finally turned up he was lovely, but couldn't tow me due to the stupid spoiler we have, so had to call for a truck to come. At least he waited with me.
So, I arrived home at 00:30 morning, and OH's friend arrived for comfort at 01:00. He left at 03:00 this morning. My parents have for the first time in a long time realised that I was at the point of not coping, and were brilliant.
So, today, the car has gone to the garage who can find nothing wrong with it. They're keeping it in overnight and will check stuff again tomorrow. I got up at 9am, called to cancel my appointments, took a headache pill and went back to bed.
My MIL then came over at midday to see me, and feed me, as I'd not eaten for 23 hours . She also helped me clean and tidy the entire house so I felt better, then went home. I'm now waiting for another friend to arrive with pizza and ice cream
This event has taught me that I can't rely on old cars any longer, especially if I'm driving 80 miles per day for work. Therefore I've taken the executive decision that I'm going to contract hire a brand new car, so it's someone else's problem if it goes bang. The OH won't like it, but to be honest, if he's never here and so can't fix the car for me, I can't see he can argue.
Sorry to ramble on. This is the first time I've had a complete meltdown over something like this and I feel rubbish. I'm not used to making car decisions and am a bit worried about it, so if anyone has any info, I'd be grateful to hear it.

Hugs v8monkeyboy, I just talked my sister through the pros and cons of buying a new car today after her 11 year old car just about died on her, so I know exactly how you are feeling. Can I ask what kind of car it is, and have you googled coolant loss for it just in case there's a simple, cheap solution? For example on our old BMW there was a problem with a screw thing which was causing the coolant to leak, and it took a couple of attempts to figure it out, until we googled it!It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Evening all, Hope that things are looking up as it sounds like some of you have had a really rough time over the last few days / weeks. Yes I know that I was the one ranting on last week, but have decided to think positive now and get over it.
So am tucked up in bed at 7.10pm!!! with my peppermint tea, my 36yr old teddy bear as OH is now snoring on the sofa - this morning he was snoring in bed and didn't get up until 2 hrs ago! He was ill bless him - grrr! I got paid Novembers wages today - which I'm really pleased about! Might get Decembers at the end of next week. Have put some feelers out for me to do acrylic nails and have a lady tomorrow afternoon, another one next week and one husband has already booked me in to do his wifes for her birthday (ahhh how sweet!).
On the minus side though - the house is a mess, the multifuel stove goes in tomorrow, then the wood floors are started on Monday so hopefully by this time next week I should be a bit more back to normal. I can't find anything - had to play hunt the cheque book, have lost a party invitation for my youngest, and have borrowed a mobile charger from a friend to charge my mobile! MUST get more organised - will have to have EVERYTHING in my filofax, so I know where it all is and can access it 24hrs a day.
Didn't someone ever think of telling me that working, having children, dogs and a non responsive husband is just NOT possible?!!! On the plus side saw the doctor today about my stress levels and he was very pleased to hear that I was working as he said it would get me out of the stressful situation that is home and give me something else to concentrate on. Have vowed to take time out for me though - so will see how it goes next week when I'm working full time.
Love and hugs to all xxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
