    Morning all

Dark and damp although rain seems to have stopped for the moment. Feeling better this morning than I have for the past week and have been headache-free for approaching 24 hours, keeping fingers crossed I'm on the mend. Went to work Tuesday but really didn't feel well so had to come home at lunchtime, slept and had the shakes and shivers, banging head, so just rested/slept at home on the sofa. I've never had a day off sick since I started this job but just felt so awful had to give in! Have still got the cough but feel brighter in myself. House consequently looks like a pit, but have managed to get some washing done so will be trying to get that dried and ironed, will be endeavouring to do housework and some cooking, also need to pop out to get some milk, bread, meat for pack-ups, and cheese. DW on with last nights dishes so once that's finished will get WM on. May do an on-line shop if I can book a delivery slot so that will free up some time tomorrow. Dinner tonight should be pork chops but I forgot to get them out of the freezer so have got them out now and hoping they will be defrosted in time! Shop tomorrow will be quite a big one as seem to have run out of lots of things all at once. Would like to get some baking/cooking done if at all possible too either today or tomorrow.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning all.

Hester, all the best at the hospital.

Bargainbird, you had me singin' along too! All night long? That's brilliant!

Mrs GSR, sounds like it's your wiper linkage. Same thing happened to my Polo on a very wet day, 2 days after buying it, just outside Dublin on a bank holiday, about to get the ferry and drive from Wales to Luton in the rain!!!!!! Not fun! Easy enough to fix if you can pick one up from a salvage yard and save yourself a bit of money.

Still having battles over bedtime with 3 yr old. Pretty good last night, but at the mo, her favourite bedtime book is Fox in Socks. (Dr Seuss full of awful tongue twisters). Bad enough on a normal night, but when it's TOTM, neither my brain nor my tongue work very well, so at least she had more of a laugh last night as Mum kept getting her tongue literally twisted!

Friends coming this afternoon for a wee visit. Have some HM wheaten soda and barm brack. Hopefully that will be OK with a cuppa. Don't want to bake more as I am trying to eat properly, and if I make something nice, the temptation will be too much!

Big hugs to anyone who needs or wants one.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Thanks for starting the thread taplady!

Morning peeps on this miserable cold wet morning.

    Hope your all okay?

Been hectic lately, having to sort out courses, meetings appointment, have you noticed it always comes at the same time.
Spent all day yesterday sorting out why my physio had been cancelled and finding bone density results. Such fun.

Ah well can't do anything till next week regarding that, so can relax now.
    Phew.

Plans for today, make some bread, attend courses at local community centre and ring up about two quilting groups.
OH has been sent to work armed with pack up and told to get his boss to sign his wages cheque. Boys pack ups are done, so now its getting them to school.

Me and snips both have headaches, i think were coming down with another batch, only just got of the last one two weeks ago:eek:, B ut he's going to school, has to realize that just because he sneezes he can laze about the place.

Also taking coddy to sea cadets tonight , my boy is growing up so fast, he's going with his mate so hopefully they'll be all right. Think i'm more nervous than they are :o.

plan on the old sytle front, i;m going to have another go at the sewing machine and make beef stroganoff i think.

    Have a good day all!
  • Morning All,

Well done on the weight losses Tappers and Bramble, I am finding it very hard to get into it.
nmlc I am glad you are feeling a little better xxx
Hester I have visions of OH sticking his feet out of the bottom of the car a la Fred Flintstone to bring you to a halt! :D
    Bargainbird woohoo! :D :T

I am off out this morning for an hour with my sister then coming home to stick a pot of soup on and bake some bread, I am expecting a couple of parcels today, one is my wallpaper for the hall and the other is my BB4L order, I spent too much time on the laptop yesterday and will be restricting myself today.

Hope everyone else is doing OK - Hugs Spoons and Hi5's all round.

redruby, the sheets sound so nice, you've opened my eyes to a world of patterned flannelette sheets and now i want some :o
bargainbird, is that chunks of chicken or minced?? I saw a "chicken tikka lasanga" in Lidl and was alll :eek::eek: sounded disgusting...

Morning all, very tired as was up half the night coughing grrr. I have a lecture at 11, will do some work at uni, pop to Lidl/market then head home for loads of revision and cooking a batch of soup(what kind has yet to be decided... spinach and broccoli??).
I have 8 chicken drumsticks in the fridge and no idea what to cook with them as I have been a seriously lazy cook lately, i think i'll do KFC tonight(without a fryer...) and just strip the meat for curry/pasta otherwise. You know somethings wrong when I can't be bothered to invent some disgusting concoction for dinner :rotfl:

    Morning my lovelies :D

Quick one from me. Not much OS going on, need to vac, hang up some washing. No idea what's for tea :o
My mum said yes to making some cupcakes for a baby shower in March and she's got into a tizzy because the chocolate ones haven't worked out as well. So I need to go and help her as she was in a real stress when she rang this morning, been awake worrying about them in the wee small hours  So any housework I had planned will probably not come to fruition as I think her blood pressure needs my assistance.

DS didn't go off to sleep until 9.30pm last night  His body doesn't switch off until around 8.45 at the earliest, there's been times before where he's been in bed at 7.30 and not stopped fidgiting until nearly 9pm. Mind you his dad put him to bed as I was out at tap class and he ALWAYS mucks about more for him ;) Sill we've progressed to sitting at the top of the stairs so that's something

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

Good Morning All. Not that it's good here at all, although the rain seems to be easing off. Need to tidy round as DH has colleague coming for day. DS staying with us again, so he and I need to be out I think. May well go and see wht's showing at the cinema this afternoon - that would be a real treat, if not very OS. Casserole tonight, followed by another meeting for me to attend. One last night as well. I think i'm on several too many committees at present!
No washing needs doing today, but we will need bread by the morning so had better get that sorted soon.
My weight hasd definitely gone down a bit thanks to not being too well, but I still have a large tin of sweets so probably all will go back again! However, I am delighted that I've droppped a full dress size in the past six months. Nice feeling when the clothes definitely feel and look too big!!
Oh well, must stop wittering and do something productive. Hope you all have a good day. Do take care.
