Which seems stupid when they have access to that information before they stop you. But i totally agree with what you've said.
They have access to who the registered keeper is and whether or not there is a policy of insurance in existence in relation to the car but they would have no idea as to who is driving the vehicle untl they stop it...................unless they are psychic of course;)"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

A friend who was pulled over was annoyed at the way the policeman was speaking down to him. He asked the policeman if it was an offence if he called him a !!!! the policeman replied that he would arrest him under the law blah blah blah. He then asked the policeman what he would do if he thought he was a !!!! The policeman replied he could do nothing as it was not an offence to think something to which my friend replied "in that case I think your a !!!!
His car was given a very thorough going over by a rather irate policeman.
I would not recommend this but it gave him a great story to tell...
Hmm.
When I first heard that story it was a footballer and a referee in the main roles.
It wasn't true then, either.0 -
I guess it may sometimes be valid for the police to repeatedly stop the person, if they know they're up to something, the problem comes when they are wrong, then it gets annoying.
A colleague of mine, in my first job, would regularly have a pub lunch with a pint and then drive back to the office. Only one pint is probably legal though. He also drove an Escort XR3i.
One day he comes into work and goes off on a rant. You need to read this in your best scally Scouse accent, while visualising an 18yr old in a shellsuit, Reeboks and a Helly Hansen jacket. This was pre-Burberry days.
"F---ing bizzies* they're all f---ing nobheads"
"What have you done now?"
"Every f---ing day for the last 2 f---ing weeks I've been on my way 'ome and the same f---ing nobhead copper's stopped me and breathalysed me, no questions or anything just breathalysed me and that's it go f---ing p----, I'm p---ed off and I'm gonna f---ing knock him out one day if he doesn't f---ing leave me alone."
2 days later he was arrested after failing a breathalyser and banned for drink driving.
Protip: If you're being stopped and breathalysed every day you might want to lay off the drink driving for a bit.
In this case the correct result happened, but the question is where do you draw the line? Every day for 2 weeks seems a bit much and someone who is slightly less of an idiot would learn to keep their head down for a bit anyway.

There we go. Nice and inconspicuous...
Lol, love it was it you I saw skidding around Asda car park last Friday night trying to impress the 2 Chav girls that had turned up to watch. Why have you got 2 dustbins stuck in your boot by the way?Iva started Dec 2018.0 -
I was stopped and scrutinised because i took a "suspicious route to the park" its blatant authoritarian, big brother, fascism, harassment BS. Most coppers are attracted to the job because they want to make a difference, a lot of them sadly become indoctrinated by a working culture that shows complete distain for the public, they have an us and them attitude. Not all of them are bad, some are bloody great, one of my closest friends is a copper but the stories he (and his police mates) tells me makes me think he just gets off on intimidating and bullying people.
You should record all police stops on your phone camera, this is legal although most ignorant coppers will tell you its not.0
