  • I got some for the first time today

    I didn't request them

I don't want to pay to send them back

If they get kept would they hound you for the money or cut their losses?

I classify this in the same category as unsolicited junk mail and it has the same respect I have for it!
I need to feel the fear and do it anyway

We used to get these in the post. Don't like them generally, so we just bin them or give them to the local charity shop.

There has been quite a bit of coverage in the press about the Which? survey of shop sold 'charity' Christmas cards:

Which? survey of the percentage of the card price donated to charity:

WH Smith: between 20% and 100%
    Asda: 50% on all cards
    Waterstones: between 20% and 50%
John Lewis: between 10% and 25%
    Clintons: 21% on all cards
    Paperchase: between 16% and 18%
    Debenhams: 17% on all cards
    Waitrose: 15%
    Morrisons: 13%
Post Office: between 10% and 13%
Next and House of Fraser: between 6% and 13%
    Hallmark: 12% on all cards
M&S, Tesco, Rymans, Sainsbury's and Selfridges: all at 10%

If you want to support a charity this christmas do what I do, tell friends and family you are not sending cards and donate your usual spend direct to the charity.

I passed on £15 straight to Douglas MacMillan last year, the charity gained 100% of my donation with gift aid as well. My Mum matched my donation and I was happier in the knowlege that a deserving charity got much needed funds.
