  • To be fair you're probably never come across many thousands of things in formal letters but they exist nonetheless. :)

    Yes prefect grammar, evidently so.....

Just makes me laugh when you cannot justified something you said to then turn around and having a dig at my grammar. Enough said.

LOL the grammar brigade is out in force.

But it was you that had a dig at the original post and mentioned " formal letters ".

So surely others expect you to have a basic grasp of English, which you seem to lack.

He's made a mistake posting today.
  • I'd like to think that reading the flawless spelling and grammar in all those word-perfect formal letters would've rubbed off someone along the line. :)

Actually I got a call from the customer care director personally. He complimented me on my letter and assured me a full investigation was under way. I received a letter within a week containing a full apology, recompense for my dry cleaning and a goodwill gesture in the form of vouchers. Perhaps letters you may have written in the past have been FAR TOO SHORT?

This is excellent! I can just imagine the reply they sent you; 'Dear Sir, Thank you for your highly entertaining and quite correct letter dated...'

The attendant were in the wrong for turning off the light, but you REALLY have time to compose such long winded letter along with many irrelevant points. A tip for u, in future make the letter short and get to the point.

If you read through again, I merely give an opinion and not attempting to have a dig at OP. Someone then mention using 'u' as text speak, then it went on that using the abbr 'OP' is not text speak etc etc.

Sounds like a dig if you can read.;)
