Peonie's journey to smart money management

Good luck with the IVF, Peonie.OK, I did it. The legs weren't so bad but my underarms - double ouch. There was even spots of blood.
I only do legs with mine, and as you say, they are not too bad. I would not be brave enough to do my underarms, and I wouldn't want to grow them long enough to be epilated either, so I'll give that a miss, I think. :eek:I did not apply for it in the end. I've not ruled out looking for anything in another part of the country in the future. Postponing would be a lovely idea. Even though the job would initially have been a £15,000 pay rise when you look at the cost of living in London and then travelling back home regularly to see family; I think I'm financially better off here. I have a 4 bedroom house in a good area and we're surrounded my family and friends. In London I'd have to pay more to buy a one bedroom flat in a half-decent area. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
Sounds like a good decision. But then I'm biassed - I wouldn't want to live in London, but I know lots of people feel differently.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Thanks Lois. I'll keep you all updated when things progress.
I chose an epilator that will remove 0.5mm of hair - so less than I wait now :rotfl:
I think London is a nice place to visit but how would I really take advantage of what's there to pay the privilege? Probably not. In reality I would work and go home. In my local city there are still great free museums, a beautiful waterfront, shops I hardly visit and I have a lovely back garden to socialise in.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

Today was another no spend day. I think I've only bought lunch twice this year. So a huge saving in comparison to what I used to spend which was £25 to £35 a week.
I really need to tidy the house. Thank goodness my friends can't come. But I did scan my parents wedding photos. In a few minutes I'm going to walk round to my sisters; she wants to borrow a dress for a night out.

Tonight I spent too long at the N3xt sale. The choice was not good. But I picked up some clothes as presents, none for myself, and even put some back that I really did not need to buy. I spent £32 when full price it would have been £65.
I thought I did not have a summer black top to wear when I help my friend at the bar. So picked a couple up, got home and promptly found a top that was suitable. I took the tops back, nipped into M&$ and bought a lovely summer dress for £2 more than I got back for the tops. The dress is 3 sizes too big but it's gorgeous and should be easy to take in.
Nope, they don't allow day suits. So we're thinking about investing in a tux.I have so many activities in the next 5 few months. I received an invitation to a hen party. A 2nd hen party a couple of weeks after the one above. A corporate fancy dress party (tickets and taxis around £115 plus hiring the costumes), [STRIKE]a birthday party at the other end of the country[/STRIKE] - been, [STRIKE]a Christening nearly the other end of the country (we still need to buy a gift)[/STRIKE] - been and done, [STRIKE]a few days away[/STRIKE] been and 2 weddings - one of them overseas, plus 5 birthdays who I buy presents for now 6 birthdays.
Exercise wise; I'm very behind. While off recuperating I've put back on all the weight it took months to lose.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120

I need some help. The 6th birthday (above) is next week and I need bargain ideas for a present. We have to post it so the lighter and cheaper the better. She's in her early 30s. Likes expensive perfume  does not want anything for her home. I'm thinking a cheap piece of statement jewelery or an experience present like tennis lessons.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
