Anyone know of a UK number for virgins broadband support?
I'm on 50meg, had some downtime a few days back, since then according to speed tests my speed has not gotten above 11 meg.
Speedtest I just took now.

I can't use the wireless around the house, the connections on the other PC's (this desk top is wired to the router), the Wii and my iphone has crawled to a stop.
Tried to call today but I got through to India and couldn't even get my name and postcode across, never mind my issue. Gave up after 15 minutes of repeating my name, address, postcode and phone number.
Don't fancy doing it again tomorrow, so am hoping someone knows of a number than can get me through to the UK.

Sorry don't know of a specific number but whenever I have to report faults, ask for help etc I always time my call(s) to have the best chance of getting one of Virgin's UK call centres - or put another way, call when India is asleep !!
This seems to work quite well but I'm lucky that I'm retired and at home a lot of the time.0 -
Thanks.
According to that, there's no known problems in my area.Sigless0 -

So when would be the best time to call? At what times do you usually get through to the UK?Sigless0 -
This whole idea of "getting through" is quite laughable. I called at about 3 in the afternoon, spoke to one person in the UK after being on hold for 15 minutes, who put me through to someone else who answered after just 5 minutes, who then put me on hold for another 15 minutes, by which time I gave up.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
If you have a virgin landline, use 151
And dont assume because there are no reported problems that one doesnt exist. Ive had to call quite a few times and prove there have been problems:idea:0 -
Hi there,
Most speed test sites will not offer a 50 Meg upload so you will never reach the maximum speed of your connection. Double check that your using one of the specified servers recomended by Virgin, http://www.virginmedia.com/customers/speedtesters/.
Either give them a call on 150 from a Virgin land line or post your problem on their support forum http://community.virginmedia.com/. I've used the forum a few times to report TV faults and they are pretty quick at arranging an engineer/solution.
Good luck.0 -

Ive had much more success phoning 151 rather than the standard 150. But im sure intrigued in the support forum which ive never had a go at yet.:idea:0 -

Thanks,
Here's my speed test from one recommended by virgin media
Also, I don't have a virgin media land line, so can't call 150.
Gonna try and call again now.Sigless0 -
Those figures are better then my 10Mb virgin connection (except pingrate which is very poor). I cant get my head around why your pcs are 'crawling' along (Unless its varying?):idea:0
