As s very organised bride I thought I had a plan for every eventuality, however, it turns out I hadn't thought of everything! I was struck down with gastric flu at the beginning of this week. I literally couldn't get out of bed on Tuesday or yesterday - and I haven't been that ill for a very long time. Thankfully after 2 days of bed rest, and sheer determination on my part, I made it up today and managed to pick up the cake & other bits. It does mean I have still got a few things left to do (so my last day which was supposed to be spent relaxing will now be spent rushing around & stressing ) and I am really not feeling well yet so everything is a bit of a struggle.
Like you Bride2Be, it doesn't quite feel real yet. I'm a bit excited and a bit nervous but mainly I'm just stressed and sick! The weather is looking good though so we picked a good day for it girls! I hope everyone else's plans are all coming together. Only 2 more sleeps! :j0 -
Oh cleverclogs you poor thing, I hope you are feeling better now!
I think I'm organised now. I'm not really but like to think I am! To do list tomorrow looks like this:- Car to garage at 8am (why OH thought tomorrow would be a good day for this, I don't know)
- Dog to kennels
- Go to opticians and pick up prescription and then order new glasses for honeymoon
- Go to beauty salon for massage and pedicure
- Meet friends for lunch
- Manicure and Pedicure in the afternoon
- Tidy house
- Meet OHs family for dinner
- Take table decorations etc to reception venue
OMG, how do I still have all this to do!!!0 -
I'm not 100% but I'm not throwing up & I can get out of bed which is definitely an improvement! If it makes you feel any better my list looks quite similar. I have to:
Clean bathroom
Hoover house
Shave legs!
Pack overnight bag
Take bags & all outfits (I have the BM & FG dresses, as well as FOB suit) to my sister's
Meet BMs for lunch
Manicure & pedicure
Pick up outdoor games
Decorate cake
Give OH a walkthrough of all the things he needs to remember
Box up all wedding stuff for church (& stick post-it notes so the boys know what to do with it!)
Call florist to confirm timings for delivery
Take all wedding stuff to reception venue
Pick up my dress, veil & BM shoes from my grandma's
I think that's everything...!0 -
Oh Cleverclogs, hope you are fully recovered now! Just sniffels for me, and coughing for the OH so sounds like we got off lightly!
All under control here, bms arrive today, drop off stuff at venue and do rehersal.
Good luck ladies and gents, see you on the other side xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hi Girls!

The whole day was so full of love and tenderness, I will remember it for the rest of my life.
Heres a few pictures that the guests took, I haven't got the official ones back yet.

I'm a guy not a girl but will say hello :rotfl:
Glad to hear everything went so well. We also got married on the 5th, feels like ages ago now! Shame the weather wasn't like it is currently.
Great photos, thanks for sharing.
We get to see our official photos tonight so I'll hopefully be able to post a couple on here

Sorry I'm a lurking June bride trying to get hints for final few days as I'm getting married on the 2nd!
I love the post-it ideas for the boys, I'm so doing that :rotfl:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Hey fellow May brides and grooms (and any lurkers)!
Just thought I'd drop a little message to say hope all you 26thers had an amazing day. I didn't stop by here much in the run-up - honestly, I was in wedding overload. I actually pulled an all-nighter on my last night in London (the preceding Tuesday - the wedding was in Birmingham), working on the final bits of signage and stationery. In hindsight, I got a bit too hung up on perfecting the little details, but when it all came together on the day - well, it really was all worth it!
We had such a brilliant, amazing day. I always thought that "best day of my life" line was a bit of an overstatement (call me a cynic!), but it really did feel like that. Not just because of my wonderful DH, and how amazing it felt to make that commitment, but because of all our loved ones there in that room, having a blast, and wishing us their best. There really is no feeling like it.
High points:
- the church service, made very personal (and humorous!) by having my mildly eccentric uncle as our priest, and also I was touched by how many evening guests came out of their way to see us get married.
- the food: amazing, amazing quality. It really tasted like we spent a lot more than we did! (The Eaton Hotel in B'ham if anyone knows anyone who's getting wed in the Midlands.)
- the band (Celtic Clan) - they were brilliant, exceeded my expectations and it felt like they had the whole room up and dancing by the end. The guests were raving about them too.
- the photobooth - the guests **loved** this, and there was a queue for it most of the night. And now we have a ton of hilarious pics to show for it. Well worth the money.
- the typewriter 'guestbook' - quite late in the day, I dreamed up a plan for a 'Mad Men' table to tie in with our 1960s theme, which included a vintage 1960s typewriter. And people actually used it - we got lots of lovely (typo-ridden!) messages.
- the amazing cupcakes tower made by my friend as her wedding gift to us. Stunning.
- everyone who came. They made it the brilliant day and night that it was.
After that, we jumped on a plane to Malta for a week of five-star R&R. Bliss! Hope you're all getting a much-deserved break too.
Last but not least a quick pic. Once our professional photos come in, I'll post a link too. xx0 -
May 2012 brides are all married now so congratulations everyone!
The major internet withdrawal I felt soon as we came back home after getting married (!) wore off pretty quickly - other than looking at last minute honeymoon details my laptop had some downtime for a month.
Our day itself was wonderful. The weather was absolutely ALL over the place - it started off with gorgeous sunshine until I got to the church, clouded over for a bit after the ceremony, and as soon as the happy couple went off for their photos it started to hail! Luckily our venue had a huge fireplace which had been lit and we got some amazing photos out of it. The service was amazing and it was so lovely to walk down the aisle (both ways) with a church full of friends and family. When I sporadically go to my local church it is usually by myself so this was completely different and made it feel really special.
We had two surprises at the reception - our first dance song ("Life's a Happy Song" from the new Muppets film) and our sweetie buffet. Both were very well received. The sweets brought out the kid inside all the guests - there were giant sherbert straw races lead by my sister and at one point it seemed everyone had a lollypop - and then the first dance allowed them to work off some of the sugar highWe have the leftovers in the loft so that's the summer sorted.
The ceilidh band were amazing, so good that I have recommended them to three other brides getting married in the next year. As the bride I managed to opt in and out of dances, with the excuse of making the rounds, but my groom didn't get off the floor until the band stopped.
Wedding done. Honeymoon done. Now we have the official photos my new project is to get an album made of our favourites. Without strict deadlines I do seem to be procrastinating - pre-wedding this would have been done in a day but I've had them for 2 weeks now and only just downloaded the software. Thanks you notes aren't having photos in them anymore and are half written. Must get these out by the weekend.
Can't post a link to any of the official photos, probably as I've only just created a photobucket account and haven't figured it out yet, but below are some of the unofficial ones.http://s1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii608/stationaryace/
Any one else got a post-wedding update/photos?!when the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up she knows she's losing it0 -

we got married on the 26th heatwave week so we had beautiful weather luckily. the whole day was like a dream, i still cant believe it was real. it all just came together perfectly and everybody was so wonderful, our wedding party really pulled together for us and we couldnt have asked for more from them. it was all very overwhelming. everybody loved our pastor, he made the whole ceremony so funny, we did our own vows which was so romantic, got some great pics! and my highlight, hubby did an amazing speech, really suprised me cos i though would be a basic speech but he was really sweet, he cried, i cried, everybody cried!
i have putting our album together for the last week relentlessly lol its hard work! im doing the photo book on photobox, cant wait to finish it and order it :-) and damn still gotta do those thank u notes lol0
