anyone else have their veil to do with only 3 sleeps left? no? just me then

on here at silly o'clock waiting for my hair dye to sink in before my nail appointment at 9am tomorrow morning (gel extensions, first time ever tried so we'll see how it goes). not sure if I could do it the other way round and not worth the risk now.

still have to do the cake topper too (have flowers in reserve just in case). dumping all the stuff off at the reception venue tomorrow, with a rehearsal at the church on friday afternoon. final dress fitting was this evening, just checking that the fabric hadn't grown since it was hemmed earlier in the week. it's so pretty but I have a sneaky suspicion it will take a lot of time and swearing to lace me in to it :p

Oh man, the pressure's really cranking up now, isn't it?

Cleverclogs, I have my hen do this weekend too. My sister's been organising it, so if there's been dramas, she hasn't told me. I really hope your sis and friend keep it together. This weekend is all about you! If they give you any trouble, demand a round of cocktails! That will keep them busy… :)

bride2be, my dad sounds very similar to yours. I've only given him one main job (deal with the church stuff – he's in there all the time anyway) and he's still getting in a tizz about that!

We're having a rehearsal on the Wed evening before the day. OH isn't religious, so it'll be especially helpful for him I think.

I don't know about the occupation change, sorry. If it helps, I didn't give my exact job title as it's a bit over-complicated (group chief sub-editor). I said 'managing editor' (which is what I've been in other companies, doing the same kind of thing).

stationaryace, wow, that's so close! You sound exactly where I want to be at that stage, though - beauty treatments and the final bits of organising.

With 3.5 weeks to go, my to do list looks like this:

    Buy:
    - table plan frame and ribbon to embellish the table plan
    - last few bits for kids' activity bags
    - groomsmen's and parents' gifts
    - flower girls' shoes

    Pay balance on:
    - photobooth (due now)
    - florist (due next week)
    - venue (due just one week before, amazing)
    - photographer and band (on the night)

    Design/print/sort:
    - Print order of service (prototype made; sent to priest to approve)
    - Finish designing and print thank you cards for bridesmaids
    - Finish designing and print menus
    - Print table plan
    - Design and print kids' activity booklet
    - Design and print a few other pieces of venue signage
    - Buy/borrow music for iPod playlist
    - Tint hair, get nails done and eyebrows

Phew, that's plenty to keep me busy!

Good luck to everyone getting married this weekend! x

2 sleeps to go and still so much to do.

Cake won't be ready until tomorrow afternoon so I'll be running round like a loony dropping everything off to each venue the evening before the wedding :(

MsShopper, your list looks a lot like ours, order of service is our big one, our priest is away so can't ask him what the standard service order is so will have to guess and have it ready to edit when he is back in a few weeks :)

Retepetsir, are you counting the hours yet?! Good luck with the delivering tomorrow

agh, does anyone else whose wedding is later on on the month just want to run away and hide until the day?? I swear if my phone rings one more time, it's getting thrown out the window!
    Since 3pm I've had:
    • My mum call about seating for the top table
    • Bridesmaid text about final dress fitting. She was stressing over the fact we've not had it yet. Chill - we have 3 weeks!!
    • SIL2B called (for her mum, don't know why MIL2B can't call herself) asking if we have ordered a button hole for best man (one of my BIL2Bs)
    • OH called Best Man to see if he has hired a kilt yet. Best Man since phoned twice, first time to say he'd do it online tonight and second to check what tartan.

AGH. I so wish we'd just gone away like I wanted originally. I'm not stressed at all about the wedding, things like seating plans and dress fittings and what tartan people are wearing don't concern me in the slightest, couldn't care less - so why do people insist on bothering me with it!!
