We also only sent STDs to our day guests – we sent them via email in the end, to save time and money on postage. But I was really tempted to get Vistaprint magnets done instead!

Good news about your SIL2B, bride2be – I saw your message on the Bridezilla thread and cheered for you. Hope it takes the heat off you a bit with your MIL2B.

TBH I don't know how much it'll keep MIL2B out of our hair - this will be SIL2B's 2nd wedding, first time round she had a huge big do with lots of family MIL2B insisted on inviting, so I know she wants a much smaller thing this time round (is her OHs second marriage too), and wants more control over it too!

Haven't spoken to SIL2B yet, as they were on holiday at the weekend and just back late last night, so don't even know when they are planning getting wed.

Im very tempted to use Vistaprint for something a bit funky! It just means that the Save the Date cards/magnets wont match the invitations... does that matter do you think?!

MrsErtas - sounds like the venue hunt is going well. You might have it booked by the end of the week - eeeek! We sent our STDs just to our day guests. We got them from Vistaprint and they looked great.

Sorry to hear about your job B2B. I work for the NHS and with the proposed reforms, there's been a lot of restructuring recently. It's really unsettling but you just have to hope that if you work hard & you're good at your job, that you'll always be able to find something. How was the camper van?!!

I love those bags MsShopper. We'll be doing something similar to keep the kids entertained but I doubt they'll look that good! We're asking for donations to our honeymoon fund, as with the wedding costs and saving for a house deposit, I can't see us being able to afford a honeymoon in the next 10 years! We're going on a mini-moon to Paris a few days after the wedding, and then hoping to go on honeymoon later in the year. I understand your OH's view and it's tough. But the way I see it, we'll always have something to pay for in the future - house, children etc - so if we don't go on honeymoon soon, when will we ever get to go?!!

I spent the weekend with the OH at the in-laws. We got to meet with our band frontman so decided the set list and details. The quote was £150 more than we were expecting. We're getting it much cheaper than other bands we were quoted, as OH went to school with him so we're getting 'mates rates', and they do have to travel a fair distance, but it now means I have to find more in the budget! I've gone to great efforts to try and cut corners to save money but the things OH was responsible for have all come in over-budget - grrr! And then he has the audacity to have a go at me at the escalating costs!!!

Other than that, a lot of things are on hold until payday. I've found a tiara on eBay, which once bought will mean my outfit is complete - yay! I've earmarked gifts for the groomsmen so that'll mean the gifts are sorted. Craft projects are to finish off the felt fortune cookies & make up the drink stirrers...I sometimes think this will never end!!!

We have one venue to look at tomorrow and then we make a decision but i think i already know which one i really like!

Ive just ordered my Save The Date cards... i realised that there probably isnt much point sending them out but i get them delivered on Monday and then i can send them out straight away so its still 3 and a half months before the wedding!

Ive been thinking about wedding favours as well, i really want some personalised ones so its time to have a browse online.

so, after spending over a week on the guest list, we got our invites ordered this evening. And now OH is on the phone to an old collegue, and invited him and his wife to the reception - who aren't on the guest list, so won't be getting a nicely printed invite!!

Ive got my dress!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyyyy. I went shopping with my mum yesterday and i found the perfect one and she bought it for me, i am so excited, i just keep staring at the picture! lol!

We have also 99% decided on the Venue, im just going to show my dad tomorrow night but i think we have the one AND we are going wedding ring shopping tomorrow.

I cant believe how its suddenly all come together! x

Ah, bride2be, I think we have the same OH! We finalised our guest list ages ago, and since then H2B has invited two more couples as day guests. That better be it – we can't afford any more!

Wonderful news MrsErtas! Can you give us a sneak peek of your dress?

I have also had some dress drama this weekend. The dress I bought last summer is lovely but I didn't love it. So, after a lot of fretting, I've decided to sell it on eBay – and probably only get a fraction of what I paid for it – and have found a dressmaker to make me one that I do love. It's a 1950s/1960s-inspired style, and should hopefully look a little something like this:



I have my first fitting in late March and then it should be ready for a final fitting three weeks before the big day. :j
