  • Hello - I'm another newbie here, who's been watching this thread for the last couple of days. Most fun I've had in a forum since the days of the Daily Express Cruise for a Tenner promotion!

Just to update the Reading situation: the Broad Street and Oracle stores both still have masses of stuff available. Loads of the expensive sets that were £40 in the Oracle, lots of different stuff in the Broad Street Store. In the little store across the road from my home they had taken down the 50% off signs last night and had squashed everything (which was not much!) up together as if they were expecting it to start today. No different tonight when I passed.

Guess I'll have to check in with you guys tomorrow at the crack of doom...!

I organised a big trip to Windsor with my boys today especially for the sale, but alas no big sale and the large boots there was like a ghost town with so much stock left, it was eerie.
    :wall:
  • I'm actually thinking of caving in and buying the toys I want for my son's Christmas at 50%.
I'm sure I've seen a few posts on here saying they didn't reduce the toys to 75% last year anyway, is that right?
Am I wrong to cave in to Mr Boots refusal to drop to 75% off!?!?!?!

Oh yes! I remember that well (and a certain forum :) ). Ten day Med cruise for £10, incl flights to Italy! (I was one of the lucky ones :j). I think it's spoilt me for bargains for ever - nothing, not even 75% Boots, can compare! :rotfl:

I know its a bit of a long process but if you're got the money to do it why don't you order them in at 50% and then if some go into the 75% sale just return the 50% ones in store for a refund. You'd still save the money but the risk of missing out would be gone.

In theory that sounds like a good plan. However, if we all did this things wouldn't go down to 75% off as we would have already bought them all at 50%. So you could be playing into Mr Boots' hands.

hi i'm new to these forums- i sooooo wish i had discovered them years ago!!

what fun and I thought it was just me that was a total looney when it came to waiting for things to go even cheaper!

can i ask what you professionals advise from now?I mean I took this morning off work and have also booked next wed am off but i think my work colleagues might want to know what is going on if i book every wednesday morning off for the next month!!

Also are you guys filling your baskets EVERY night online and setting your alarms for 3am every night just in case??

Also does anyone else think that Boots are doing his on purpose to create a mad frenzy/hype so all of us buy like crazy when the 75% sale actually happens and buy loads of rubbish we don't actually need! After reading these forums I think I have been overloading my basket a tad more than I normally would!

Thanks for a very entertaining few days, beats watching tele!!
