Boots 75% off sale - possible date

does anyone else who likes boots:j bargains go to the yellow sticker TKMAX sale - I think it starts next monday and all items in the clearance section are reduced daily until they get to 30p some items are damaged but we always get useful bargains. :T

I've been convinced all along that the 75% sale would be the 18th but now I'm not so sure! My own store has half the amount it normally has and no one seems very positive that it will go ahead. Even people on this forum don't seem so excited! This time last year there was a real buzz and posts every few minutes with updates! I really hope it is on tomorrow - I love this sale!!

I know what you mean, I keep checking on here expecting to read pages full of new posts like last year, but it's very quiet

I'm hoping this is purely because the staff are being so cagey (I can remeber going to my local boots 3 days before last year and being told when it would happen) and not because it's not gonna happen this year.

It doesn't help that theres no online sale this year as you knew when the orange people appeared at midnight that it was definately 75%.

Let's hope some kind Boots staff will give us some info today !

Could someone enlighten me about the 'orange people' I've heard it mentioned once or twice - it's of no real consequence I know but I hate not knowing what people are talking about. Thanks.

Ive just asked the staff in my local small store and they said they had heard nothing and thought it was very unlikely it was going to happen hope they have just been told to keep quiet.

The orange people were on their holding page online when the site was down. If I remember right they have quite dark/orangy tans. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong about the tan-it may have been clothes but it definitely refers to the holding page.

In previous years the 50% sale was still online right up until about midnight before the 75% sale started - you knew it was all go when the page changed from the sale stuff to the smiling shiny orange people (who were ski-ing I think - but I might have made that up :rotfl:) People (:o) would sit for hours refreshing the page to buy online and get the best bargains as they went very quickly!

As the sale is already finished online this year it's unlikely to happen - shame as it was part of the buzz

I work in a small Lancashire Boots store and have been told to put up the 75% off sale banners this evening as part of my jobs list !
So unless things change again it looks like it will be tomorrow that its happening.

I believe that people who work for boots already get a heavy discount, at least they used to when my dad worked for them. I just dont think its fair that they can grab all good stuff before the public get in. I have nothing against them fighting it out same as the rest of us when the store opens.

and once it gets to 75% off Boots staff get no further discount ! they pay the same as everyone else.
